The carriage lurched forward and the sound of horses trotting came through the walls putting Lilla in a trance after a short while. She just sits there by the window staring out at the passing trees and cottages thinking about how the Queen and Prince will be, whether they were good thoughts or bad.
She jumps a foot as Ezekial puts a hand on her knee and asks.
"Are you ok Lilla?"
"Yeah, i'm ok, just a little overwhelmed is all." She gives him a sad smile and turns her head to look at the window again where her smile disappeared as the horse hooves hitting the ground put her back into a trance. He just looks at her with a worried expression and gets ready to speak but thinks otherwise and just faced the front again knocking on the window to the horseman to pull over.
The carriage came to a sudden stop getting Lilla out of her trance again.
"Whoa, what are we doing?" Ezekial grads her hand and pulls he rout of the carriage to a creek near the road they were travelling on. She yanks her hand out of his grasp.
"What the hell are you doing?" She comes to a complete stop in the trailer they were on.
"Im taking you to a place where we can be alone and you can tell me what's bothering you." He stops and looks at her.
"I don't want to talk about anything with you, I just want to get to the Palace and see what this whole fiassco is about!" Ezekial bites his lip with a shocked look upon his face. Lilla turns on her heel and begins to walk away back to the carriage leaving him in the dust behind her.
He watched her retreating figure with an urge to just run after her and force her to talk to him but decided against it thinking "Its her choice, she's her own person, I guess it'll take longer than I thought for her to fully trust me. I don't know what this draw towards her is, all I know is that I can't get her off my mind. And everytime I look into those beautiful eyes of hers, whether they're blue, green, or grey they're still the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. She has this pull on me that I don't know what it is, I just want to figure it out is all. Is that to much to ask?" He starts trudging back up the trail to the carriage where the gorseman awaits him.
"Would you like to ride on the Horseman chair with me, she seems a little on edge right now and she might need some time to herself?" The short horseman asks.
"Did she tell you to tell me that?" He chuckles a little. "Yeah, I'll sit up there with you, she kind of needs it you're right." He hops on the step to the chair and sits down, the horseman follows suit and begins the movement of the carriage again.
Lilla sits alone staring out the window on the verge of tears thinking the worst will happen once they reach the palace.
"What did I do? Am I in trouble? Will they judge me? Is my future in danger?" All these questions circled her mind until she decided to close her eyes and gather herself. Within minutes she was asleep and stayed asleep until they reached the Palace where servants prepared a feast and awaited their arrival.
