Fates hand

Once again. Sammy pulls himself out of the dark puddles. He's on his hands and knees, he gives another desperate laugh as ink rolls down his sides. Oh well. Nothing else to do but try again, right?
...
... footsteps.
Sammy heard heavy footsteps heading his way. Sammy looks up and is met with a blinding light. He uses his mask to cover his eyes. The light dims with a click and Sammy looks to see him.
The projectionist
Sammy stairs for a moment. Then laughs. Was this the work of his lord? Did he get tired of killing him himself and sent another to do it? The projector headed being looks down at him, simply staring at the broken man laughing at his feet.
"Has the world come to taunt me??"
Sammy laughs, "is my devotion not enough for my lord? Does he not even wish to end me with his own claws?" Sammy choked out a few sobs. The projectionist continues to stare.
"Then do it projectionist! End me already!" Sammy looks up and gives the deranged smile of a broken man. "I have nothing else to loose! Send me back to the screaming depth of voices!" Sammy cried and lowered his head. Accepting his fate.
The projectionist slowly raised a wicked claw towards the prophet. Then stops. He continues to look at the crumpled man of ink below him. Then kneels down. Sammy, confused, looks up at the projectionist's light. The projector tilts to the side as he looks at the man. Then, in one simple motion, scoops Sammy up and carries him out of the room. Sammy blinks in confusion, but doesn't resist. He's to tired to care. He simply lets himself be carried to wherever the projectionist is taking him, sobbing the whole way.
What has fate in store for him?
Has this monster shown him mercy?
If so, why him?
Sammy didn't know.
Maybe on some level.
The projectionist wasn't sure ether.
