Why do people make Tord not know a lot of English when they make highschool fanfics? It's confusing.

Me, slightly being Norweighan. All the times my Norwegian part of the family has talkin to me. They usually speak English, no. I don't know how to make a Norweighan conversation but I know as much as to understand. But researching about it more,

People from Norway know English???

Well, most of the population do. I had asked my sisters the time they had left to Norway, I said, "Hey, did you need to speak Norwegian" and they said "No, English is a foreign language there". So

I don't see why people don't research after they make these conclusions that Tord might've not known any English???
This is not to be rude to anyone but, why? Tord would obviously know how to speak English already due to how many people actually speak it.

As again, I'm not trying to be offensive. And I may not be correct and maybe Tord just only knew Norwegian and didn't care a lot about English at that time
