"ARE YOU SERIOUS right now, or is this a joke?" Jordan Parrish ruffled a hand through his hair. His little sister bowed her head down, not bothering to answer him. He groaned, taking her suitcases and moving the next to the couch in his small loft.

"Anna, you can't just crash here! Dad will eventually find out and kill the both of us," He continued. "I can't go back to school either!" She snapped up, her face immediately gasping once the words escaped her mouth. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell."

"I just, I don't know what to do, Jor. I'm really scared. Y-you haven't been home in so long, and things have really changed since Mom left," Anna looked back down.

"If Dad finds out that I got kicked out of boarding school, he'll kill me."

"And for good reason! Dad pays monthly tuition and still asks me for a couple hundred once in a while to be able to afford it!" Parrish frustratedly held his hands out. Anna's eyes began to water, and Parrish immediately felt bad for snapping so harshly on her.

Granted, she was right. Their father had changed ever since their mother left. It was exactly one of the reasons why Anna begged to go to boarding school in the first place – to get away, just like Jordan did.

Reluctantly, Jordan scratched the back of his head, "Just – You can crash on the couch for the night. Tomorrow I'll call and see if we can get you back in, okay?" He asked, causing Anna to smile at him brightly. She gave no answer, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you. I missed you so much, you don't even understand," Anna let out, making her brother chuckle.

"Bathroom's next to my room, I don't have much food in the fridge but the grocery store –"

"Is down the street, to my left. I remember," Anna recalled, referring to the one time she was allowed to come home and visit. It was shortly after Jordan had picked up this job, and moved all the way to California from their old family home in Virginia.

"I have work in the morning, and you'll be coming to the station," Jordan spoke sternly, making Anna nod. "So be ready, get to bed soon."

She smiled at him one last time, before taking a seat on the couch and trying to get comfy. "Goodnight, thank you," leaned back, making him chuckle. "You can have a pillow or two, you know."

She got up, shaking her head with a laugh. "Yeah, forgot about that."
