Detective Conan: Two New Shrunken Detectives

Chapter 1: Who are Anais and Axel?

It was just another day in the Beika district. Conan and the rest of the Detective Boys were already at their school. Amy, George and Mitch were talking animatedly like they usually do and Conan, a.k.a Jimmy, was sitting looking bored out of his mind. His hand was propping his head up, keeping it from banging on the desk.
"Did you hear?!" Amy half asked half yelled to the shrunken detective and the real elementary schoolers," there's going to be a transfer student coming to this classroom!"
"I heard the same thing," George said equally as loud as Amy," but someone said two people were transferring instead of one,"
"Well no matter I hope their both boys," Mitch said.
"Well I hope their girls!" Amy argued," we need more girls in this classroom." The three continued to argue about the genders of the transferees. Conan watched on with a sweatdrop.
'First graders' he thought with a groan, they get excited over the most pointless things.' Just then the teacher came in.
"Okay class settle down," She said with a smile. Once everyone calmed down and got to their seats, she continued.
"Today two new students would be joining us." She then looked around the class with a serious expression," these kids are from America so their Japanese might sound weird, but I better not ever see you make fun of them because of their accents!" Everyone except Conan, who rolled his eyes, immediately nodded. They thought their teacher was scary when she got angry.
"Well now that we've got that settled," the teacher said smiling again," come on in." Two little kids came in, one a girl the other a boy who were obviously twins. They both looked alike with the same wavy, dirty blond hair and dark green eyes. The girl had her wavy hair cut to her chin and her green eyes were looking around the classroom with obvious boredom. She was wearing a blue and dark purple swirled tank top over a long sleeved shirt the same color of her eyes, blue and dark green capris, and blue dark purple and dark green Toms. On her head was a plain dark purple baseball cap. Over her eyes were black Ray Band glasses with little dark purple designs on the arms of the glasses. The boy's hair was cut to his ear and was really shaggy, almost covering his eyes that were looking straight ahead at the clock, mirroring the same boredom as his sister. He on the other hand was wearing a red, orange and yellow striped t-shirt, red and yellow basketball shorts, and orange and yellow basketball shoes.
"You two can introduce yourselves now," The teacher said with a smile towards the newbies.
"My name is Romero Marie Anais," came Anais' emotionless response, eyes still filled with boredom. She then bowed," nice to meet you."
"My name is Romero Michael Axel," Axel responded dryly, eyes finally moving to look at the full class. He then bowed like his sister," nice to meet you."
"Now do any of you want to ask questions to the new students?" the teacher asked. Amy raised her hand immediately along with George and Mitch.
"Are you two twins?" Amy asked, cocking her head to the side.
"Yes, we are," Anais and Axel replied in unison, unsmiling. George went next with the question of how old they were.
"We're sevente-," Axel began but was interrupted with Anais covering his mouth.
"We're both seven," Anais said quickly, uncovering her brother's mouth. Conan narrowed his eyes at the twins at the front of the room. Axel seemed like he was going to say seventeen. He was about to think of it as him hearing things, when Anais covered Axel's mouth and quickly answered, that truly aroused his suspicions. He decided he'd figure it out later. Mitch than asked his question which was how long they were living in Japan.
"Well we used to live here when we were little," Axel explained but then paused looking down at himself," well littler." That caused the class to giggle a little.
"Then we returned to Miami for 6 years," Anais continued with a small smile as she remembered, revealing dimples," and then we moved to Osaka when we turned sixte- er I mean six."
"We stayed in Osaka for a year and then we moved back here 4 days ago," they concluded in unison. Conan narrowed his eyes again. Anais seemed to almost say sixteen almost like how her brother almost said seventeen. And these two look too mature for their ages or supposed ages. And he couldn't help to think that they looked really familiar. Well he'd have to wait until recess or on a lesser extent after school.
" Okay Anais-san, Axel-san," Teacher said to the two new students," you two can sit on either side of Conan-kun."
"Hai, maestra," the twins said in unison. They then looked up at her and saw her confused expression and they laughed.
"Oh sorry, sensei," Anais said still chuckling," maestra means sensei in Spanish."
"Yeah we used to call our sensei that back in Miami," Axel agreed.
"Oh okay then," The Sensei said. The twins went straight to the seats the teacher pointed out. Anais went to Conan's right while Axel went to his left.
"Hi nice to meet you," Axel said smiling revealing that he also had dimples.
"Yeah nice to meet you," Anais said mimicking her brother's smile," I hope that we can be friends or at least acquaintances."
"Me too," Conan said politely after they sat down," My names Edogawa Conan by the way."
"Edogawa-san, huh?" Axel said," our father likes the works of the author Edogawa Ranpo, I can't wait to tell him that someone has the same last name as Ranpo,"
"Yeah he'd be really excited," Anais agreed then noticed the teacher was talking again," oh we'd better pay attention."
"Yeah pay attention to somethin' we already know..." Axel said looking at the kanji sheet on the table.
"How do you already know this?" Conan asked, getting suspicious again.
"Well we learned this in Osaka," Anais said with a shrug," Harley-niichan helped us."
"Wait, you know Hartwell-niichan?" Conan asked surprised.
"Yeah our parents know the Hartwell family pretty well," Axel said grinning," we are cousins."
"Wow I never knew Hartwell had American cousins," Conan said to himself.
"What?" Anais and Axel asked in unison.
"Nothing." Conan said quickly. Anais and Axel shrugged and went to work on the kanji sheet.
