Flashback
Nadeen POV
I was sitting on my bedroom door playing with my old dolls when I heard the door open. I quickly dropped everything in my hands and sprinted down the hall and jumped some of the stairs. I kept sprinting, then I jumped to the figure coming in the door.
"Dad!" I yelled in my happy 5-year-old voice.
"Hey sweetheart," Dad said as he held me in his arms. "How's your day been?"
"I was boring because mom made me clean." I crossed my arms at just the thought of it.
Dad laughed then put me down on the ground. Mom walked over then greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. They started to talk about grown-up stuff so I left. I was called down for dinner which the whole family participated in.
After dinner, I was sent upstairs and went to bed.
I quickly arose from my sleep due to a strange feeling. I quietly jumped out of bed and went downstairs. I saw a figure by the door with a long brown color coat on and a briefcase in its hand. I walked closer to see what I was...it was dad.
His attention was brought pulled away from the door and to me. His eyes were watery with a slight hint of red.
'I thought boys couldn't cry?'
"Dad where are you going?" I asked wiping the sleepy dust out of my eye.
"Daddy has to go to Garden Town to get a job. I might not be back for a while so you have to take care of your sibling, but most of all your mother. Ok?"
I nodded and ran to him to hug him. He bent down and excepted my hug. My sadness fell down my face in the form of a tear. After a few seconds of hugging, he got up and opened the down. I followed him into the cold outside air.
"Can I come with you?" I asked with a crackly voice.
He shook his head.
"Will I at least see you again?" I asked at the full moon glowed in the sky.
"Let's leave that to fate," he said and started to walk down the front steps of the house. "In the meantime, if you ever miss me just look at the moon and know I'm missing you too." He said and disappeared off into the dark night.
"I love you!" I yelled loud enough for him to hear.
I never did see him again
