#2: Sick Days (Lisa)

Lauren's POV

I am so annoyed. Lisa won't stop coughing and sneezing every five minutes, and frankly, it's really getting on my nerves. I guess that's the price you pay when you go to sleep at 5 in the morning and wake up after everybody else. The rest of the family went to the movies, except Lisa, since she caught a cold a few days ago.

"Ah choo!" I heard Lisa sneeze behind me, and I couldn't help but groan in annoyance.

"Oh my gosh, when the heck will they come back home?" I mumbled under my breath as I prepared a bowl of hot chicken soup for her. Suddenly, she let out a light chuckle, causing me to turn around and to glare at her.

"What's so funny?" I questioned her, confused.

"I have a cold, Lauren. I'm not deaf. I heard what you said." she told me, her normally smooth voice husky and raspy. I gave her a small smile and sat down next to her, on the couch, with the boiling hot soup on my thighs. Lisa was currently enjoying a TV show that I've honestly never heard of before. It is kind of funny, actually.

"Sorry for being so snappy, Lisa. Today's just not a good day for me." I apologized after a few minutes of silence. I saw her nod as a response. She glanced at me, and then looked down.

"Um... isn't that hot?" my older sister asked me, pointing at the bowl, which I totally forgot about. I just laughed and quickly put it on a table, completely ignoring the fact that I had burned my lap. I then rested my head on her shoulder and smiled.

"Lauren? Thanks for taking care of me. I know that you wanted to go outside and have fun today." Lisa said, playing with her fingers.

"I did have fun. It's always fun with you, even when you're sick." I assured her, grabbing her hand.

"Thank you. I owe you a big one." Lisa told me, laughing.

"Anytime, Lisa. I love you."

We then spent the rest of our time together watching TV and making each other laugh.
