Yuki watched in awe as the Kings' Swords of Damocles were glowing side by side, but the fact that they were so near to her was scaring her. How did they manage to get even this close to her hideaway.
"Milady, I believe it is time we go inside." Yuto suggested.
"Just a little longer." She asked of him, "I haven't seen a Sword of Damocles in years, let alone two at the same time."
As she continued to admire the sight of the weapons floating in the sky, Yuto, who was more quick to react, saw a dark object falling to them.
"Yuki!" He called out, wrapping her in his arms and covering her body as he tumbled to the side so she wouldn't get hit by the unknown cannonball.
Yuki remained on the ground, unharmed thanks to her protector, and his steel eyes looked into her ocean ones to see if she was alright.
"What was that?" She asked him. He turned to look at the thing, and as he panted his way to the object, he noticed that it was no thing, it was a person.
"Milady, don't come any closer." Yuto warned, but his master whom never listened approached the unconscious figure anyways.
"Yuki!" He called, trying to get her to back away, but she crouched down to take a closer look at him.
"He's injured." She said.
"How did a man get through the barrier you made?"
"I only have one answer for that," Yuki answered, "it's my destiny to meet him. Come, Yuto. Help me get him into the house."
"But, milady-"
"He won't be of any harm. He's hurt, and I can heal him when he's not freezing to his death." She told him.
Yuto picked up the man in the blue coat, holding his glasses in his free hand as he walked him out of the snow and into the small cottage. In there, he placed him on a bed and Yuki sat beside the unconscious stranger as she analysed him in detail.
Placing a hand onto his cheek, she wiped off the melting specks of snow that had plastered themselves onto his skin.
"He's so cold." She worried he might be a little too cold, especially while he was within the barrier.
"Yuto, leave me alone with him for a moment." She said, and her clansman was in disbelief at what she had asked him to do.
"But, Your Highness-"
"Please." She gave him a kind and assuring smile, "You're a little too cold to be around him while he's like this. I'll call you should anything happen, I promise."
The man obeyed and left the room, shutting the door slowly and remaining by it in case something were to happen. His feet were jumpy, and he kept rocking them back and forth from his toes to his heels.
Yuki's hand remained on Fushimi's cheek, as she tried to use her abilities to keep him warm. She closed her eyes and focused her energy on keeping him alive.
Calling onto the powers of the Red Sword, she was brought to meet with the previous Red King, Mikoto Suoh, in her mind.
"King Mikoto." She greeted him.
"The legend that is the White Queen. I didn't think you were real. I guess I didn't believe in a lot of things in my youth." Mikoto said, his voice as smooth and calming as ever.
"I guess so. It's partly my fault because I was always in hiding. How have you been? You're still connected to the new king's abilities. That was why I was able to meet with you." She stated.
"Why have you called for me?"
"I needed to use your abilities. I need to heal someone, but I can't use it if I hadn't met the person physically before. So please, lend me your ability, Mikoto-san."
Mikoto had a thinking expression on his face, before looking up to face Yuki.
"I will give you my ability, but you must promise me something, White Queen." He said.
"What is it?"
"Watch over them. The power makes them stubborn, and stubborn Kings are never good. I should know." He told her. Yuki couldn't help but smile and the genuine plea Mikoto had asked for.
"I will. Your successor, is a she, am I correct? A young girl. Anna." She said.
"She's a kid. Please watch over her for me as well." He said, as he handed her something, "And give her this for me when you meet her."
Yuki looked up and her eyes were wide as the gazed at Mikoto. She knew what she had to do when Mikoto had given her these.
"Your time has come, White Queen Yuki." He told her, "You can't run from destiny."
As she opened her eyes, she realised she had managed to keep Fushimi warm, and the heat given by Mikoto's abilities were starting to do her some good.
She felt something within the grasp of her hand, and as she loosened up her fist, there were three red-coloured balls that glowed when reflected by the sun. They were so beautiful.
She said my red was the prettiest. I wanted her to remember me by that, White Queen, so please.
Assuring him, she promised to give them to the new Red King once she was able to reveal herself to the world.
She waited patiently beside the unconscious man, and she placed a hand on his chest, feeling a heartbeat. It was all interesting for her since she had never felt such a thing. Her heart, throughout the years, had been put to a pause due to her immortality.
"It's like a fluttering butterfly." She noted, remembering the rhythm and embedding it into her memory.
Staring intently, she furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to pinpoint who he was.
"Where have I seen you before? I feel like I've seen you in my dreams, but I can't pinpoint where." She stated, and she was taken by surprise when he had finally opened his eyes, revealing a blue that was far deeper than hers, and a gaze that was sharper than hers as well.
That gaze, finally met hers, and she was suddenly taken away by the ocean of his eyes.
