Chapter 6 I Dont Wanna Break

The day that Dan was meant to be moving in with me he sent me a text saying

‘I’m not ready to move in with you yet. Come to my house at 3:00 and we will talk.’

I was so confused and a bit upset about this but I went to Dans house to see what he had to say.

I knocked on his door and he answered. “hey” we both said. When I went inside we both sat down and he said

“I’m so sorry but I am just panicking a lot and a lot of things have been going on lately.”

“oh, thats okay I completely understand, I guess we can see how you feel later.” “yeah um well I don’t think that is going to happen.” he said

“How come” I said sounding a bit shocked. “I’m sorry Chelsea, you are an amazing person but I have just been going through some hard times lately that I haven’t shared with anyone not even you.

Im finding things so stressful so I feel like I need to be on my own. but we can still be friends” “are you serious” “yeah I’m afraid it’s over between us.”

“Oh okay” I said trying not to let a tear escape from my eye. “I gotta go now but i’ll see you another time” I said sounding kind of depressed.

In the car I put on Christina Perri’s album and skipped to I don’t wanna Break because I really was trying not to break at that moment but I couldn’t help my self.

I bursted into tears. I really thought he was the one.

Then I thought about how he said we could still be friends.

I knew how ‘cliche’ that sounded but it would feel really awkward to me considering this has never happened before and just being around him now is going to feel weird.

I thought about everything on the car ride home but what I thought about most was when he said that he had a lot of stressful and tough things going on and why he couldn’t tell me what it was.

When I got home I called Lucy and told her.

She felt so bad and came right over we talked and cried all night but she really made me feel better.
