"Wait, I don't understand." The boy stated. He watched as his friend ate from the red velvet frozen yogurt they decided to share. "Why did you want to talk?" "You asked me who Parker cheated on me with." "Yeah, and?" Owen sighed. She really didn't to have this conversation so soon. "And, I'm pretty sure that the girl he did it with was important to you."
This spiked Nathan's interest. "Really? Well, now you gotta tell me. Who was it?" Owen mumbled something under her breath, and Nathan noticed. "What?" "It was Amber." Nathan's breath caught in his throat. His Amber? The girl that he loved so dearly? His first love?
"No. No no no. That can't be right." Nathan replied, his head shaking. "Amber said that she was in L.A. for a family visit. She said that-" "A family member was sick?" Owen interrupted. Nathan nodded slowly, and Owen frowned. "That's what Parker said, too." Nathan put his head in his hands, attempting to process all of this information. How could she do this to him?
"Nate?" Owen softly called out to him. He didn't answer. "Nate, I'm so sorry." "You're sorry?" Nathan's head shot up. He stared at Owen in disbelief. "What are you sorry for?" "For letting him go so easily. Maybe if I had questioned him, guilted him even. I could've made him stay."
Nathan sighed and grabbed the young girl's hand under the table. Owen took a breath as she felt the pad of Nathan's thumb draw circles along the back of her hand. "This isn't your fault, Win. Never was, never will be." Owen looked away with a gentle scoff.
"I'm serious, love. If you keep holding yourself responsible of everyone's mistakes then unecesary guilt will consume you." She looked back at him. "And how would you know, Nathan?" "I used to do the same thing, and trust me, it gets to be unbareable." "Will you help me?" Nathan smiled. "Of course."

"Why aren't you tagging me?" Owen asked as she looked up from her phone. Nathan had just posted a picture of her on instagram. They were now walking to Owen's house. "Because I don't my fans to start bambarding you or Amber's fans to start attacking you," Nathan started, looking down at Owen as she scrolled through her twitter feed. "Besides, we can keep a secret, right?"
Owen looked back down, a smile playing at her lips. She wasn't sure what secret she had to protect, but Nathan was involved. That was enough to get her on board.
