The happiness and balance had finally returned in the small family.

John was back on his feet, Maria's ghost had made an appearance, Phillip and Mollie we're both going to school in the fall, and Alex was happy that his family was finally complete.

Today was the day that marked Alex and John's six month anniversary of being married, it was December, Christmas was coming up, the kids were going to school and Alex decided to take the day off from work to help his husband around the house.

Alex still got up and took the children to school, but he came home today.

John was standing in the kitchen wearing only his fuzzy green pyjama pants as he bustled around, cleaning, washing dishes, and singing.

Alex just leaned against the wall and watched the taller man dance around the kitchen, singing a song that escaped Alexander's mind. He wasn't paying attention to the words, only the rhyme. And it sounded like an angel's voice filling the air.

Alex slipped in and hugged John from behind, his face pressed against the side of John's neck, his chin resting on the bare, freckled, shoulder of his husband.

John let out a soft laugh and spun around so he was hugging Alex properly. They stood in the kitchen just hugging and swaying, enjoying each other's embrace.

Alex pressed a soft kiss against John's lips, John smiled into the kiss and then kissed back softly.

Alex leaned into him making the two of them bump into the counter.

They finally let go to take a proper breath.

Alex smiled cheekily before pushing his lips against John's once again, running his hands through his latter's soft hair.

They smiled at each other once they pulled apart.

Alex lead John upstairs, pushed him onto the bed, and... Threw a bundle of clothes at him.

"Aleeexx!"

"I wanna go out. Get dressed!" Alex laughed at the pouting John.

Soon enough they were out and around, they walked for almost an hour before they passed a small cafe.

"Hey Alex?"

Alex's head swung around to look at him, his face bright red.

"You okay?"

"Ha. Yah, yah I'm good," he gave John a big grin and a thumbs up.  John wasn't convinced in the slightest but he shrugged it off.

They both went into the cafe and ordered their food.

They shared secret glances and soft smiles. The day was warm and they were together. Nothing could ever change that.
