~time skip to their one year anniversary because I don't need Christmas right now~

The Hamilton-Laurens family was finally in a completely calm time, the ghosts were happy, and the kids were safe.

Alex

Every once in a while something plunged me back to my past. It was weird, I could be playing with the kids and they would say something that would just make me space out. It would plunge me back to my family and before I wanted to speak.

John noticed and sometimes he would just take me and sit me somewhere while he continued on with what I was doing but it was getting more frequent.

As it went on, the family grew closer, Phillip had made it to fifth grade and Mollie was in third grade.

The family stayed on it's feet thanks to Alex's job as a lawyer. The ghosts helped protect the kids from demons and other things, Phillip also loved to write, 'Aunty Eliza' loved to read it.

Angelica would talk with Alex for hours upon hours and everything was okay, it would be okay. And no matter how rough (kinky)it got the family would always be together for better or for worse.

Until one day it all came crashing down.

Alex had had a flash back while he was driving and had gotten into a car accident.

With Alex at the hospital, John was plunged back to his past when everyone was dying.

Phillip and Mollie didn't know what was happening, they just played with each other and tried to ignore the crying coming from upstairs.

Finally, after a very long week,Alex was released.

The first thing that he did was make sure that the kids were okay. They were his top priority at that moment.

"Phillip, are you two okay?"

"Yah, but Mollie is hungry and I can only make peanut butter sandwiches and she doesn't want that," Phillip complained softly.

"I'll come right back to help make some proper food love, first I need to check on Mama," Alex explained to the young boy.

Phillip nodded and Mollie hugged Alex.

Alex climbed up the stairs as quick as he could, he had suffered some broken ribs and a fractured wrist so he moved just a touch slower than normal, his ribs paining him every step he took.

As soon as he made it to his bedroom door he knocked.

John opened the door and squeezed Alex against himself.

"Oh my God you can never let that happen again. I've been scared out of my mind this whole week," John told him, starting to cry again.

"I'm sorry love," Alex said simply. A moment of looking at each other and Alex pressed their lips together softly, the kiss was full of love and care, it was soft and gentle.

"Now, I have some children to take care of," Alex said, pushing himself back from John.

It was safe to say that after that Alex went to get therapy for his flashbacks and John reminded himself that he always had the children that needed to be cared for, even when he felt down.
