CHAPTER 1:

MAY'S POV:

There’s a quick knock at the door and I sense that it is my younger brother, “Come in.” I say turning around and walking back in my room. My brother, Kalum, walks in with his confident walk and famous smirk, “What is it you need?” I say looking at him with a stone cold look.

He throws himself on my neat bed and throws his arms behind his head, “I heard that there were a few rouges threatening the east border last night.”

“It was taken care of. They didn’t do anything nor did they come onto our land, so nothing drastic had to happen.” I responded.

“Whatever, May. You should’ve let the guards bring them in. They were within feet of crossing.” He said. He believes violence is always the best answer to everything, but I don’t. It is usually my last resort, which is one of the many reasons why I became the alpha and not him.

“I didn’t want to cause any unnecessary trouble. Get out of my room, you’re bothering me.” I said sighing and walking over to my door and opening it for him. He just chuckled and got up leaving me in peace.

It was only mid-day, so I thought I could go do some training with the kids. I put on my shorts and my cut-off tee. Going over to the mirror, I pulled my messy, brown hair up into and ponytail and brushed my teeth. I got my pair of black tennis shoes, put them on and went down the stairs.

As I walked through the house many “Hello’s” and “Good Morning, Alpha.” Were thrown my way. I nodded and smiled in response. Then headed out the large front door, going towards the training area. I preferred Alpha instead of Luna because that’s what I was, an Alpha.

When I approached my beta, Luke, had everyone stop, “Everyone, welcome your Alpha.” They all bowed and Luke blew his whistle and they all stared going again. “So, what did I do this time to get to be in the presence of the only she-wolf to ever run a pack by herself.” Luke said with a chuckle crossing his arms over his chest. “Ha-Ha. I just thought I could take over training today or maybe just help a little.”

Luke has always been my best friend. I don’t even know if I would be were I am without him. He always made me stronger and I love him for that. He’s the only one who has ever seen or even knows the real me. His dirty blonde hair and brown eyes are an attraction to all the other she-wolfs around here and it’s funny when they flirt with him. He couldn’t be more awkward.

He shrugged in response, “Yeah, sure. What did you have in mind?” I thought about it for a second, “Who’s the cockiest kid you’ve got in here?” He nodded over to the group of boys going at it pretty hard, but with no strategy. “All of them?” I asked. “Yup.” He said popping the ‘p’. “Alright, we don’t want arrogance here, so I’m going to put a stop to that.” Luke just smirked and shook his head. “Have fun, May.”

I walked over to the group of boys and when they noticed me they all stopped and stood straight up. “Luna.” They all said in unison. I nodded, “I was watching you guys. You two, who were just fighting come here.” I said backing up a little and bringing them with me. “You,” I pointed to he kid to my right “Name?”

“Matt.” He said. “Okay Matt. You fought with no strategy. You are relying on your strength and went in without knowing what you were going to do. Attack me.” I said, getting ready. “Are you sure, Alpha?” He asked.
