Chapter 13

I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in my bedroom, I had no dreams or nightmares. I sat up slowly stretching. I stretched out my limbs and looked to my side. Axel laid next to me sleeping soundly. I brought my knees up to my chest and laid my head down.

I looked to the side and saw my phone, I grabbed it and turned it on. There was a text message, I clicked it and saw it was from Haley. I read the text " Atara are you alright? Are you kicked out of school? Are you okay??" I typed back and said "Yes I'm fine, I'm suspended for three days" I said. I jumped as she replied straight away. "Thank goodness. Are you coming to work?" "Work?" I asked. "Work? What work?" I asked.

" I was able to pull a few strings to get you the job at the pet store faster" I read. I looked at the date it was Saturday. I got out if bed and ran down stairs. "Mrs. Serein!" I said. I herd a crash and her thumping. "What's wrong!?" She said coming out from around the corner holding a pan. I looked at her.

"I got a job, may I go out today? A friend got a job for me, I applied when I was still living at the apartment" I said. She looked hesitate. "Uh, I don't know dear" She said. Dagen came walking in through the door. "Hey what's up?" He asked. "Oh I applied for a job and I have to go today" I said. "Alright have fun" He said. "Dagen" Mrs. Serein said.

"What? She's fine" He said. "Guh, alright" She said. "Cool" I said and ran up stairs texting Haley. "She's really growing up fast" Mrs. Serein said. "I just wish I was there to see it" She said. Dagen walked up to her and wrapped a arm around her. "Just enjoy the time we have with her now" Mrs. Serein nodded and then punched Dagen in the gut.

"just because I'm letting you stay here doesn't mean I forgive you" She said walking back into the kitchen. "Right" He said.

I ran into my room and shut the door. "Okay cool, get here as soon as you can" Haley said. I replied with around normal Okay, and grabbed my clothes and walked into the bathroom taking a quick shower. I got out and blowdryed my hair. I putt in my contacts and brushed my hair.

I putt on my clothes and looked at my self

I nodded and walked out grabbing my bag and putting my phone in it. I putt on my shoes and walked out if my bed room. "I'm leaving!" I said and walked out the door. I walked down the side walk and towards the pet store. I texted Haley letting her know I'm on my way.

I sat on the end of the cross walk waiting for the light to turn. I leaned against the pole waiting. It turned and I walked across quickly. I walked up to the store and opened the door. "Atara!" Haley said jumping out. " Where does she come from?" I thought. "Here" She said handing me an apron.

I took it and putt it on. I straighted it out and saw a small name tag. "I had your name tag made" She smiled. "Thanks..?" I said not really sure how to respond. "Okayy, so ima teach you how to use the cash register" She said walking be-hide the counter. "OK you just need to press that button and that button to make this come out, this is where the money is. Then press this one and this on to get the recite. And then this and this right here when you're done scanning items. Got it?" She asked. "Uhm I guess" I said. "Cool! Now come over here" she said grabbing my hand and taking me in the back. She showed me everything and where everything goes. I didn't get it all but I got enough. "OK I'm gonna be in the back, good luck!" She smiled. "I- wait!" But she was already gone I sighed and sat beside the counter. I looked around the pet store and decided to organize it a little better.

I started with the dog toys. I had finished the dog toys when i herd a bell signaling there was a new costumer. I walked out of the isle and groaned loudly too load. Damien looked at me, he had a black eye and a bandage around his hand. "You work here?" He asked. "I suddenly wish id didn't" I said. He smirked and walked up to me. I looked at him weird and backed up against the food. "Do me a favor and get these things for me" He said handing me a list. "What? you are capable of getting these your self" I growled. "Fine then i will have to make a complaint to you boss" He said. I clenched the paper and growled. I grabbed dog food and a few toys. I walked back and threw the toys at Damien. He caught them and glared at me "Whoops sorry my hand slipped" I shrugged. I set them on the counter and i walked over scanning the items. I looked up and saw him staring at me. "yes?" I asked. "How did your wounds heal so fast?" he asked.

I flinched "uh i don't know, you don't have enough strength maybe" I smirked. He scoffed and grabbed his items. He walked out of the store and i watched him leave, i looked away and sighed. I helped other costumers and eventually its been 5 hours. I sighed out and saw Haley walk over. "You've been doing so well Atara!" She smiled. "Thanks" I said. "You may go home now if you'd like" She smiled. I nodded i took off my apron and putt it away and grabbed my bag and walked out of the store Haley waving bye. I walked outside and looked up at the sky. I saw clouds rolling in. I looked back down and quickened my pace. My phone rang and i answered it. "Hello?" I asked. "Atara! where are you!?" Mrs. Serein yelled on the other end. "I'm on my way back right now" I said. "Well hurry up! a storm is rolling in!" She said. "Okay okay, im just a few blocks away" I said hanging up. I sighed and stuffed my phone in my bag. 

I walked faster when i felt trickles of rain hit my face. I started to go into a run, the rain started to pick up. The rain hit hard against my clothes. The mist and fog was un believable. I was almost home when i stopped in my tracks slipping and then falling into my back. I groaned and sat up i looked up and stood when i noticed a figure in the mist. "Hey!" I said. They turned around and stared at me. I narrowed my eyes and saw red eyes glowing from the mist. I stepped back my eyes widening a man with dark black hair blood red eyes walked out he smiled down at me. "Hello, dear niece"
