Chapter 4

The car ride was suppose to be 11 hours, but traffic and construction sites added four long hours to the trip. I honestly slept most of the time. Thalia refused to let me drive at least for an hour, so sleep was the only way for time to pass(I'm gonna skip the rest of the ride 'cause it is soooo boring).

We got to South Carolina at ten at night and check into our hotel. We were on the top floor and the room was kinda big. We had a kitchen, dining room, living room, three TVs, two bedrrooms, and three bathrooms."Wow. And how much was this?" I said to Thalia.

"Who even knows. I just brought couple thousand. That should cover everything, right?"

"A couple thousand?! Where'd you get the money?"

"That, is none of your worries," She said. 

"Give me a twenty," I said. 

"What do ya need," Thalia asked.

"That is none of your concern." Thalia rolled her eyes and handed me a twenty dollar bill. "See ya in half hour. Brb." I left our room and went to the nearest drugstore. 

Can I have one pack of Camel Cigarettes please?" I asked the women at the counter. The lady handed me the package and I handed her the money. And no, I was not going to smoke the cigarettes. I am going to Skype Piper and have her have a heart attack. It's going to be hilarious!!!

"15.04 is your change. Have a nice night," The lady said while handing me a bag and my change. I walked out of the store and walked two milesmto get back to our hotel.

I took the elevator to the tenth floor and walked into our room. "I'm back. Thalia?"

"In here!" Thalia called from the dining room. "Are you gonna tell me what you bought now?" She asked.

I took out the box and said, "To scare the hell out of Piper. Oh my gods, I'm gonna laugh so fucking hard."

Thalia looked at me in shock and said, "Wow, Annabeth. This pregnancy is completely different. I like it."

"I'm hoping different is good," I said while taking a seat next to her on the couch. "Time for Skype." I found Piper in my contacts and pressed 'call.' It rang and rang until finally she popped up. And in the time it took her to answer, I got the cig in my mouth and she flipped.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, ANNABETH?!?!" I just laughed as Piper screamed and Percy, Jason, Leo, Reyna, Hazel, and Frank came over to her. I couldn't breathe when Reyna and Hazel joined in on the yelling.

"Oh my gods," I said between laughter. "Your faces!" Thalia and I just sat there laughing as the girls yelled and the guys looked confused as fuck.

"What's going on?" Jason asked.

"She is-" Piper started.

Before she could say anything, I said, "Piper?" Piper looked at me as if saying, 'Sorry!' I just rolled my eyes. "Piper is a freak over smoking. And I thought I'd taunt her a bit."

"What about those two?" Leo asked, pointing to Hazel and Reyna. 

"I have no idea what their problem is. Like I would really smoke a cigarette. I thought you girls would trust me just a little more," I joked.

"Oh, yeah. We totally trust your judgement," Hazel said, joining in on the teasing. 

Reyna chirped in, "Why, Thalia. You are awfully quiet today. Is something on your mind?"

"This is what I'm thinking. According to my "ID," I'm 18. I think I'm gonna go to the store and buy me some wine, or maybe some beer. Which one guys?"

"I vote neither cause you aren't killing us while your drunk," I said. When I  'us,' I really meant me and my baby. And I want Thals to survive, but she ain't killing my unborn child. 

"Well, then. I guess I'll just be sitting here the entire month," Thals annouced. 

"I have no problem with that. Except when we need food or really anything," I said.

"Why do I have to do it?"

I leaned in and whispered, "I'm pregnant and you're not. Ha."

"This that gonna be your excuse 24/7 now?"

"Looks like someone is getting smarter."

"Is it, that?" Reyna asked. 

"Ah, it looks like my smartness is rubbing off on you guys," I said teasingly. 

"Someone has to fill us in," Frank complained.

"Soon, boys. But not right now. Goodnight everyone," I said. I signed off Skype and turned to Thalia. "I want us all to live, and you are not killing my unborn child."

"Whatever. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Thals."
