Harry's POV:
I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.
I repeated those four words in my head over and over. I was strong. I knew that I was strong. I just didn't know exactly how strong Simon was. Obviously I was stronger but could I conjure up that much strength? If I could was it possible to keep my energy up long enough to kill him?
I sighed and took a deep breath. Liam would be attempting to get a hold of me anytime now and I had to be ready. This wasn't a game. This was a fight. A fight I couldn't afford to lose. I had been practicing for this moment for weeks and now was the time to push my old weak self behind and be the vampire I knew I could be.
"Harry can you hear me?" Liam.
I closed my eyes and focused on only him, "I can hear you. Are you close?"
"I'm about as close as I can get to the entrance without being noticed. Are you ready for this?"
I nodded, "I have no choice."
"Ok. Now concentrate. I'm going to try to transfer some of my energy to you. I don't know how long it'll last but I'll get in there and help as soon as I can." I could hear a bit of nervousness in his voice but of course he was nervous. I was about ready to piss myself.
"Alright. Let's do this."
"Good luck Harry. Be safe."
"You too."
I could no longer hear him but I felt a sudden sense of warmth flowing through my veins. I took a few steps towards the tunnel before me and instantly noticed how much easier it was to walk. Before I felt like I had weights strapped to my limbs, always dragging me down, but now I felt free. Much more free than I have felt in quite a while. I wanted to enjoy this freedom but I knew that the clock was ticking and I had no time to waste.
I ran through the tunnels as fast as I could. I had no idea where I was going considering I had never been out of the space I was confined to. I knew Zayn was in this cave somewhere though and I had to decide if I should find him or Simon first.
Simon. You need to find Simon. After he's dead you'll have all the time in the world to get Zayn.
I searched and searched until I finally heard voices coming from about a kilometer away. I crept forward until I could make out the words that were echoing off of the walls, "-gone?"
"I-I'm sorry sir. I went into his chambers so he could feed and he was missing.", Nick's voice came out gentle and petrified.
"I don't care about your excuses!", Simon shouted. "You had one job and you failed to do so! I don't have time for your incompetence!"
I cringed as I heard Nick begging for his life and suddenly there was silence. A few moments passed before I heard Simon speak again, "Go find him! I'll kill you all if he isn't found!"
I flattened myself against the wall in a panic. Oh god oh god. What do I do? He wasn't supposed to know I was missing so soon in the plan! Take a deep breath Harry. You need to get through this. You'll be fine. Just remember what you've learned and you'll be fine.
I swallowed my fear remembering that this time I wasn't vulnerable. For once I could fight back. I could do something for myself and I could save the world. I could save Zayn. I wasn't going to be dead weight this time. It wasn't an option.
I turned the corner and slightly jumped when I saw two extremely mean looking auras that I could only assume belonged to Simon's minions.
Do it for Zayn.
I closed my eyes, concentrating on the energy surrounding me. I could feel the power cascading through my palms and then there was the screaming. I hadn't realized when I decided to do this that there would be people dying. I never really thought too much about it. I guess I didn't really want to. I couldn't see their flesh burning in front of my eyes but hearing it seemed just as bad. I shook my head, realizing that I didn't have time to stop and think about anyone but my family. I couldn't let anything distract me.
I diminished the fire and continued to where I had heard the conversation take place. I began to notice the ring sending that familiar burning sensation down my arm and my limbs started to get heavier. It was a slow process but I knew I had to kick it into high gear before I had no energy left. Liam was making his way into the cavern to help but I had no idea how long that would take and I wasn't willing to risk everything so I could be cautious.
I kept my hand on the wall, making sure that I was following the tunnels. It was the only way that I could make sure I wasn't gonna run right into a wall. Being blind was way more difficult when I was trying to kill an all powerful dude with a kink for revenge.
I was lucky that I hadn't run into any more of the other vampires running around these tunnels. I wasn't sure how many there were but I was sure that I had to watch my back. I followed a curve in the walls and saw an aura far into the distance. I picked up speed hoping that it was him and as I got closer I could confirm that it was. A dark red and black aura was standing before me. I could tell that he was mad. The air was thick and there was an evil energy that was taking over the space we stood in.
"Harry. It's so nice for you to join me. I knew you wouldn't be going very far.", he chuckled.
I hated that voice. The one he used to torment me. It was like he thought of me as a toy. I knew that I was nothing but a tool to him but it honestly just pissed me off. He must have sensed how upset I was.
I heard his footsteps drawing closer and suddenly he was right next to me. "We had a deal Harry. Now I'm afraid the deal is off."
I wasn't thinking of his words as I hit him as hard as I could. My knuckles collided with his jaw and though it hurt my hand quite a bit, I was sure all the damage that I did was piss him off more.
"You shouldn't have done that boy.", he growled. "I have no patience for little twats like you. If you're not gonna listen to me then I suppose I can only do one thing."
I heard chains quickly scraping against the ground accompanied by that orange glow and I wouldn't believe what he was intending to do. I didn't want to think about the beautiful boy that was now in front of me. I didn't want to think about how beaten and battered he probably was already. I had pissed off the wrong man and now I wouldn't be the only one to pay.
"Since you're feeling a bit...rebellious as of late I have a bit of a task for you.", he paused. "Kill Zayn."
