I'm on the roof with Ming and Margaret as the sun sets. The two are drinking while I'm smoking.
"Girl, what happened today?" Ming wipes the excess tequila from her lips.
"What do you mean?" I look at her.
"You could've shot that boy, but you didn't. It's not as if you were afraid to miss because you're the female version of Deadshot." Margaret looks at me suspiciously.
"What?" I shrug.
"YOU'RE IN LOVE!" Margaret shouts. I slap her arm.
"I don't want Africa to know! You know my dads will murder me if they ever find out!" I blow smoke into her face.
"So you admit it?" Ming smirks.
"Yes...no...I don't know what love is. I only met him today." I groan. "I'm going to practise my piano." I sigh and I climb to our open window. I sit at my piano and I start to play. I play Sing by Gary Barlow which is my favourite song. It's a hard song to play and I keep messing up. "Come on, Penda-Tabia. You've practised hard." I play the chorus successfully. I start from the beginning and I sing while imagining myself alone in a world where it's just me and my piano. "Some words they can't be spoken only sung so hear a thousand voices shouting love. There's a place, there's a time in this life when you sing what you are feeling. Find your feet, stand your ground. Don't you see right now the world is listening to what we say? Sing it louder, sing it clearer knowing everyone will hear you. Make some noise, find your voice tonight. Sing it stronger, sing together. Make this moment last forever. Old and young shouting love tonight. To sing we've had a lifetime to wait and see a thousand faces celebrate. You brought hope, you brought life, conquer fear. No, it wasn't always easy. Stood your ground, kept your faith. Don't you see right now the world is listening to what we say? Sing it louder, sing it clearer knowing everyone will hear you. Make some noise, find your voice tonight. Sing it stronger, sing together. Make this moment last forever. Old and young shouting love tonight. Some words they can't be spoken only sung to hear a thousand voices shouting love and life and hope. Just sing; just sing; just sing; just sing. Sing it louder, sing it clearer knowing everyone will hear you. Make some noise, find your voice tonight. Sing it stronger, sing together. Make this moment last forever. Old and young shouting love tonight. Hear a thousand voices shouting love."
"You are incredible." I hear someone say. I turn around to see the two Isle girls. I forgot to shut the door. I start to blush.
"Thanks, I guess." I walk over to them.
"We needed that kind of song after today." The purple haired girl holds out her hand. "I'm Mal and this is Evie."
"Penda." I go to shake her hand but I high-five her forehead. "Utani." I smirk. "Where are you two off to?"
"We're going to the boys so we can sort out a plan to steal the wand." Evie smiles. Mal smacks her.
"Let me come and be a part of your plan since I played the song." I take out my dagger and I swing it around my fingers. "I'm so evil I almost killed the daughter of Peter Pan. If it wasn't for Tinkerbell's daughter, she would be dead."
"Really?" Mal asks.
"Let me be a part of you plan." I hold my dagger to her throat. "I'm not joking."
"Done." Mal leads us to the boys's dorm. One of them is playing a video game and Jay is looking at stuff on his bed. "Boys, this is Penda. She will be joining us on our mission. An evil AK will be useful. Penda, dork is Carlos and that's Jay." Carlos gives me a weird look.
"I'm an evil AK." I look at my dagger. "Mess with me and my family and my friends and you deserve to be dropped off the roof. I did that once to Peter Pan's daughter and she's lucky Tinkerbell's daughter saved her."
"I remember you." Jay winks at me.
"And I remember you flirting with Audrey." I smirk.
"Jay, what are you doing?" Me and Mal walk over to him.
"It's called stealing." Jay stars piling more stuff onto his bed.
"Okay, what's the point?" Mal asks him.
"Well, Mal, It's like buying whatever I want, except it's free." Jay pulls out a laptop.
"Okay. So, you could do that, or you could leave all of this here and pick it up when we take over the world." Mal smiles.
"You sound just like your mom." Evie pulls me onto the bed she's sitting on and she starts plaiting my hair.
"Thank you." Mal looks at her.
"You do it your way and I'll do it mine." Jay walks away from the bed.
"You're just like my friend, Ming." I chuckle at Evie.
"I need to take off your beanie." Evie says. I quickly walk away from her. "Um...okay?"
"Jay, come check this thing out, man. It's awesome." Carlos hands the remote to Jay. He starts playing the game.
"Guys! Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?" Map shouts.
"Fairy Godmother, blah, blah, blah. Magic wand, blah, blah, blah." Jay says making Evie and Carlos laugh. Okay, I laugh as well.
"This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents. To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel. Yeah?" Mal looks at the others. It's not as if my dads are villains. They're not bad...apart from Uncle Pumbaa's farts, but that's besides the point.
"Yeah." The others answer her.
"Evie, mirror me." Mal demands. Evie sits down in a chair while everyone gathers around her.
"Mirror, mirror on the...in my hand, where is Fairy Godmother's wand...stand?" Evie holds out her mirror.
"There it is!" Mal exclaims. I run over to them and I smile at the vision of the wand.
"Zoom out." Carlos points at the mirror.
"Magic mirror, not so close." Evie tells it. The mirror shows a picture of the Earth, "Closer. Closer. Closer."
"Can I go back to my game?" Carlos asks. "I'm on level three."
"Stop! It's in a museum. Do we know where that is?" Mal looks at me. I shake my head.
"Two point three miles from here." Carlos shows us on the laptop.
"If Simba can run across the Sahara desert, I can run over two miles." I crack my neck.
Mal opens the door and checks if the coast is clear. "Come on." Mal leads everyone out of the door. "Carlos!"
"Coming!" Carlos runs after us.
