Feelings?

Jay's POV

I'm walking through school with Carlos to find the girls. I can't stop thinking about Penda. The way she looks, her laugh, her personality, she's perfect for me. I keep meaning to bring it up to Carlos, and I was going to do it in Remedial Goodness but Penda was sitting in front of us. I've been thinking about her ever since I first met her when I arrived at the school. Why does she have to be so amazing? I would practically die for her. Is it weird that I daydream about us kissing?

"EARTH TO JAY!" Carlos shouts.

"Wha-what?" I snap out of my thoughts.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" Carlos asks.

"Nothing." I lie.

"Come on, Jay. I know you better than that." Carlos rolls his eyes.

"Fine." I sigh. "You can only tell Mal and Evie what I'm about to tell you. Understood?" Carlos nods. "I like Penda."

"In a friend way?" Carlos stops walking.

"No, in a I-want-to-date-her way." I try to hide my red face from Carlos.

"Hey, man, it's cool." Carlos elbows me. I smile and we find the girls at Mal's locker.

"Hey, boys." Evie smiles at us.

"Jay's in love with Penda." Carlos says. I stomp on his foot. "Ow! You said I could tell then!"

"Not straight away." I hiss.

"Ooh, Jay's got a girlfriend." Mal and Evie tease in high pitched voices.

"Do that again and I will break your arms." I lean against the lockers.

"What?" Evie asks innocently.

"Do you mean-" Mal smirks.

"Ooh, Jay's got a girlfriend." They tease again which makes Carlos laugh. I grab the girls' arms and I twist them behind their backs. "Ow!"

"Say the magic word and I'll let you both go." I smirk.

"Sorry!" Evie shouts. We give her a look of disgust.

"Not that word, Evie!" Mal shouts angrily. She looks at me over her shoulder. "Evil!" I let them both go.

"You almost broke my wrist." Evie rubs her wrist.

"Boo-hoo." I tell her.

"Hey, guys." Penda walks up to us with her friends.

"Hey, Penda." We all smile at her.

"Carlos, let's go." I walk off. Carlos doesn't come. "Carlos!"

"Coming." Carlos walks up to me and we walk back to our dorm.

Penda' POV

"Hey, guys." I walk up to my friends with Margaret and Ming.

"Hey, Penda." They smile at me.

"Carlos, let's go." Jay walks off. Why did he do that?

"Jay's been acting weirdly." Carlos tells me.

"Carlos!" Jay shouts.

"Coming!" Carlos walks off.

"Me and Minnie will go wait in our spot for you." Margaret places a hand on my shoulder. We nod at each other before she walks away with Ming.

"I'm gonna head to our dorm." Evie smiles. "Bye, Mal. Bye, Penda."

"Bye." Me and Mal say to her as Evie walks away.
