~Blake~

This is Blake's POV. Just warning so you don't get confused.

It's been two days since the Moon Run. Since the day that Nico went missing. The alpha has set up a patrol to search the woods for any trace of him. So far, they have been unsuccessful. Today they are holding a meeting to determine how they are going to take further action.

All the council representatives are gathered in the conference room inside the Main House. Dom lets me join in on the meeting because I insisted that he let me. Even though Nico and I got off on the wrong foot, he's been good to me ever since I joined the pack. Plus, I can't just ignore the disappearance of one of my pack members.

"OK, let us begin this session," The alpha declares.

A bunch of "Yes, sir's" come as a response from the gathered members. The beta representatives seem bored, as though a simple omega's life wasn't worth wasting their time over. I don't bother to look at them-- it'll just raise my temper.

"We are searching for Nico. He's a member of the omega cabin," The alpha gestures his hand towards me and Dom. "Nico disappeared on the night of the full moon. We haven't found any traces of him since. If any of you have any leads, please speak up now."

The room is quiet. Reluctantly, Dom stands up to speak. "Sir, I'm aware that Nico had a few... enemies of the beta wolves in our pack." Dom glances nervously at the Beta representative that glares down at him.

The Alpha raises an eyebrow. "Enemies? How so?"

"Well," Dom starts, "occasionally, betas, deltas even, will call Nico out into the woods for a few minutes. Saying they want to see just, in their own words, 'How tough you really are.' After those encounters, he's returned with bruises, a black eye, and some cuts." Dom twists his fingers together nervously, "So I was thinking that maybe, please forgive my rudeness, someone in our pack, did something to Nico."

The table buzzes with gossip. A few of the other classes cast glares at the betas. They must also have been victims. Could Dom really be right about this? Did someone from our own pack sabotage Nico?

The Alpha is quiet for a second. "Is it true, James and Vanessa, that your betas have been bullying the other class members?"

The beta leader named James pushes back from his seat in outrage. "As if our members would ever do something like that! I would not allow it!"

A delta stands up as well. It's a teenage girl with slick black hair. "I must agree, my deltas would never lay a finger on another pack member."

A few of the council members whisper among themselves. I'm guessing they are calling those two liars. I push my chair back and stand up.

"Objection," I say, "I've experienced it first hand when Nico was getting attacked. I had to help him defend against four people."

"Can you identify the ones who attacked Nico?" The Alpha inquires.

"If I saw them I probably could," I say.

"Hm, James and Stephani, I want to see your betas and deltas after this meeting." The Alpha commands.

The teenager's name is Stephani. She flicks her hair with her perfectly manicured nails. James' face is red, but he doesn't say a word. He sits down in his chair begrudgingly.

The captain of the patrol stands up. "Sir, I have some news that may or may not be related to this case," He looks at the alpha, waiting for permission.

"Speak," The Alpha permits.

"Well," The captain says, "the moon chain is missing."

A chorus of gasp rises up from the crowd. Moon chain? What is that? I look over at Dom and he seems pale. I wonder what he's thinking.
