After All This Time - Book 2

Prologue

"No, I wont do it. I can't."

"You can and you will. The Dark Lord will kill you if you fail to perform."

I sighed and closed my eyes, raising my wand again. "Crucio". The woman on the ground started screaming and writing in pain. I opened my eyes when she stopped screaming. A pool of blood surrounded her. She was covered in cuts and bruises. Her body was violently shaking and soft whimpers escaped her mouth. I looked up at Draco who was standing across from me, his wand also pointed at the woman. Deep creases ran between his eyebrows and tears were forming in his eyes.

"One more time, both of you."

Draco's wand began slightly shaking as he looked up at me and nodded. "Crucio" we said in unison. I winced as the woman's body violently jerked, a blood curdling scream escaping her mouth.

"That's enough" Lucius said. "The Dark Lord will be pleased."

I lowered my wand as Amycus Carrow entered the room. A wicked smile spread across his face as he levitated the woman and took her out. As soon as Lucius also left the room, I fell back onto one of the couches behind me. Draco walked around the pool of blood still on the floor and sat down next to me, leaning back his head and sighing.

"So what, are we the new torture devices?"

"I don't even fucking know anymore" Draco groaned, running his hands down his face. Draco reached over and wrapped his arm around me, pulling me toward him. I scooted over and put my legs over his, wrapping my arms around his body and resting my head on his shoulder.

"What's going to happen now" I asked, my body beginning to tremble.

"I don't know" Draco whispered, tightening his arms around me. "I really don't know."
