Chapter 13 -

"Shafaq?" Fariah called her.

Shafaq quickly wiped her tears and went inside. Everyone was sitting at the dining table eating food that Fariah had made, she joined.

After eating Umer stood, "Okay Uncle, I should leave now. I have to pick up my parents. They are coming back from England today. Bye Shafaq." He said before leaving.

Shafaq smiled and said goodbye. "Okay son, thank you so much for picking us up from the airport, I will stop by your house tomorrow to see your father." Manzur sahab spoke to Umer.

"No need to thank me Uncle, you are like my father and of course you must come, I will be waiting for you. Goodbye."

"He's an obedient boy, I like him very much." Manzur sahab said while sitting down.

"Okay Dad, I'm going to sleep now, good night." Shafaq left to her room.

Shafaq POV -

I was going to my room, but I stopped in front of the guest room, glaring at the door for a while I opened it. Going inside I sat on the bed and began thinking about that night when I kidnapped Rehaan. It was all my fault, I wish I hadn't done it.

"Shafaq...Shafaq?" Fariah called, coming into the guestroom.

"What are you doing in here?" She asked taking a seat beside me.

"Thinking." I whispered back.

"What?"

"I made my Rehaan separate from me!" I said as a tear fell from my eye.

"Forget it Shafaq! Two years have passed, why are you still thinking about him? He was a cheater, and I don't think he would have remembered you!" She said harshly.

"No, Fariah you are wrong! In fact, everyone is wrong. I know him, he did not cheat me, he was lying. I saw it in his eyes!" I yelled.

"Yeah? Well then, we are all wrong, and you're right. Okay, not come and let's sleep!" She said rudely and moved out of the guest room.

I wiped my tears and laid on the bed, he had slept in this bed for one night. Thinking about that helped me have a good sleep that night.

The next morning after waking up I went downstairs, and everyone was having breakfast.

"Shafaq, come and have breakfast quickly and then we are going to the Data Darbaar, the shrine to donate money to the soup kitchen!" Mom said.

"No, you and Dad go, I don't want to." I said while I took a seat.

"No, Shafaq! Don't make excuses. This site is considered to be the most sacred place, you will find peace of mind and heart there. Fariah will also go!" Mom offered, and I had no other option, so I got ready after breakfast.

We arrived after some time, and there was a large crowd. Everyone was in search of blessings, Fariah and I stayed together while Mom and Dad went to go donate money.

Some people were feeding the poor and Fariah and I walked over to watch. I was looking at them sitting and eating food rapidly, and I caught another man's eyes. He covered his face with a black shawl and only his eyes were visible.

I recognized those eyes in no time, they were the same narrow deep red eyes, I tried to look again but he looked away.

"Rehaan!" I whispered

"Shafaq, not here please!" Fariah pleaded. I moved towards the man I was sure was Rehaan, my Rehaan.

I went closer bending down to look at his face, but he stood up and moved to the other side.

"Excuse me?" I muttered. He didn't respond and began moving. I moved behind him.

"Shafaq, where are you going!" Fariah shouted behind me. I didn't pay attention to her and I started following him. He began to move faster and now I Was sure that this was Rehaan. I moved faster to keep up with him but then he started to run.

I started to run but it was too crowded, and I couldn't reach him, so I shouted.

"Rehaan, I know it's you! Please stop!"

He didn't stop, I ran behind him until I was out of the shrine, I couldn't see him anywhere, I had lost him! I ran further but he was nowhere.

"I know it as you, Rehaan!" I screamed.

"Shafaq! Shafaq, are you mad!" Fariah yelled coming up behind me, Mom and dad trailing behind her.

"Aunty look at her! Without telling me she began running after a man!" Fariah complained to my mother.

"Shafaq, please! You need to stop doing this. I am so worried about you, why can't you just be normal!" Mom yelled at me.

"And who was that man?" Dad asked.

After staying silent for a bit, I finally whispered, "Rehaan,"

"I'm fed up of hearing his name!" Mom shouted.

"Calm down, Amina begum. And Shafaq, there is no Rehaan! I don't want to hear that name again, let's get into the car."

After coming back home I was sitting on the sofa, Mom and Dad sitting in front of me with Fariah.

"What?" I asked as they were all looking at me.

"Shafaq, you are nineteen. You are going to be twenty in two months!" Dad said.

"I know, Dad."

"Yes, and now you are doing abnormal things! I have tried everything to make you forget about the past!"

"Dad, I've tried to forget but I can't!"

"But, I can't see you like this. Your mother and I have decided on something."

"What?"

"We think that you should get married." I was shocked, I never expected this.

"What are you saying Dad, please don't do this!" I yelled getting off of the couch.

"Calm down Shafaq and sit down!" Dad said harshly. I sat down, and I was crying.

"I am going to meet Umer's father today and I will ask him about your marriage to him. He is a very good and obedient boy, he is a friend form school. We all know him, and I am sure he will you happy!"
