Chapter 19 –

Shafaq’s POV

Two months have passed since Aaliyah’s death, we took a DNA test and it came back that Rehaan is Shayaan’s father.

During the two months, Shayaan had grown attached to us. He is a very cute and innocent child. I put him down for bed and walked out to Rehaan who was watching t.v.

“Shafaq?” He asked while I sat down next to him. “Hmm?”

“I’m sorry for putting the responsibility of Shavaan on you.”

“Don’t be. I accepted him as my own. I did it before you and I don’t have any regrets.” He smiled and pulled me closer to him.

He pulled me onto his lap, “Shafaq, as I get to know you more, I in love with you even more.”

I felt his breath on my face and I felt peace, “And I’ve already fallen in love with you, so much more than I thought I would.” I muttered.

His lips hovered over mine and he kissed me, his tongue teasing mine. Afterwards my head lay on his lap and he was playing with my hair.

“Shafaq, I can’t believe all that fates given me, all this happiness.”

“Believe it, because it’s real. You have me and Shavaan.”

“I know, but I still have a fear of losing you too. I won’t be able to bear this kind of pain this time. I love you so much, I can’t believe fate has been so merciful on me.”

“Rehaan, now only death can keep us apart and I won’t have any regrets if I die. I’ve got all the happiness in the world. I’ve competed my mission to discover the light inside of you.”
“No, no. Death can’t separate us, we will die together.”

“Haha, no Rehaan. We can’t die together. Our deaths are given by God, but I wish that I die before you.”

“No, Shafaq. Don’t say this. We won’t talk about it, death will not separate me from you.”

Suddenly my phone rang, it was Fariah calling.

“Hi, Shafaq! How are you and Shayaan?”

“Hi, we are good! How are you and Umer?”

“We are good, thank you. Umer and I were thinking of planning a trip up north. Would you guys want to go?”

“Yes, we would love to! We’ll have a lot of fun and Shavaan will enjoy it.

“Okay, great! We will pick you up tomorrow, and Umer will arrange everything. Just make sure you are packed.

“Okay, take care!”

“You too, bye!”

After hanging up I told Rehaan about the trip and we began packing. “Mama, where are we going?” Shayaan asked.

“We are going on a trip!” I said caressing his cheeks.

“Trip? What is trip?” He always asked such cute questions.

“Trip is when we go to beautiful places and we have a lot of fun.” Rehaan said.

“Oh, but we are only three people, how will we have fun?”

“No, Fariah aunty and Umer uncle are coming with us!”

“Oh, then it will be a lot of fun!” He said excited.
The next morning, we work up early and began breakfast, and Fariah and Umer arrived. I greeted them and told them to sit down for breakfast.

“Sit down and have breakfast! I know the two of you didn’t eat.”

“Yes, we didn’t. What would I do without you?” Fariah laughed.

“Yes, that’s why God created me!” I replied amused.

“Yeah, Shafaq, I’m lucky to have you as my friend!” Umer joked.

“Yes, I know you’re so lucky to have me. Everyone is lucky to have me!”

“Get off your high horse, Shafaq!” Umer laughed and I punched his back.

I sat down with them and we all had breakfast, “I am lucky to have Shafaq in my life.”

“I am the luckiest to have you!” I said to him.

“Oh, the two of you will so this anywhere!” Fariah said and Umer smiled at her.

After breakfast, we loaded our luggage into the car and we sat and began our trip. We decided to play Antaakshari. Umer and Rehaan were one team, Fariah and I the other.

Rehaan didn’t know any songs so Umer sang; “Badtameez dil, badtameez dil.. Maane na, manee da!”

“No, that’s cheating! It doesn’t start like that.”

“Yes, it does. Okay, if you know it then you sing it!”

“Why that’s not a rule?”

“But I made it up!” They began to fight.   “Okay, stop! I know where it starts I can sing it.” I shouted at them.

“Shafaq, this isn’t fair, you’re taking Umer’s side!”

“No, not at all. I’m on your side as well. I think Shafaq shouldn’t sing because it’s not a rule.” Rehaan said.

“Please, for the love of God, stop your love story here. At least in the game don’t take each other’s side!”

“Okay, I’m singing!”

I began to sing;

Paan Main Pudeena Dekha
Naak Ka Nageena Dekha
Chikni Chameli Dekhi
Chikna Kameena Dekha
Chaand Ne Cheater Hoke Cheat Kiya Toh
Saare Taare Bole Gilli Gilli Akhaa

Pa Para Para...
Meri Baat, Teri Baat
Zyada Baatein Boori Baat
Thaali Mein Katora Leke
Aaloo Bhat, Muli Bhat
Mere Peeche Kisi Ne Repeat Kiya Toh
Saala Maine Tere Muh Pe Maara Mukka

Ispe Bhoot Koi Chadha Hai
Theharna Jaane Naa
Ab Toh Kya Buraa Kyaa Bhalaa Hai
Fark Pehchaane Naa
Zidd Pakad Ke Khadaa Hai Kambakht
Chhodna Jaane Naa

Badtameez Dil, Batameez Dil, Batamiz Dil
Maane Na, Maane Na

Everyone clapped after I finished including Shavaan.

“Wow!” Shayaan said and we all laughed.
