*8 Years later*
"Since when did your brother get so hot?" Alex asked. Alex was one of Cat's closest friends. Ever since they were little he had a crush on Michael. Of course, she missed his question. It was the anniversary of her parents death. The death that had changed her and her brothers life forever. The fire started because of a candle but she knew better. After years of therapy she gave up and convinced them that yeah, it was definitely a candle and not some demon. Cat and Michael had moved from Brisbane to Sydney with their Aunt Olivia in hopes of starting a new life, so they could move on from the pain. Most of their family had lived in Sydney anyway. It was easier to be surrounded by them then just by a phone call.
"Earth to Cather!" Alex waved his hand, snapping his fingers, in front of Cat's face. His face held a look of confusion.
"Huh? What did you say?" they were both standing in the hallway, waiting for their next class to start. As she leaned back against the locker, she blinked and realized she was staring at a few guys on her brothers football team.
"Are you staring at hot guys again without me?" he raised his eyebrow and moved to stand in front of her. His black hair was a mess from running his fingers through it all morning. "Tell me where your brother got his hotness from and we can move on." he glanced over at the team. "Great now Calum is staring at us because of you."
She wrinkled her nose. "Calum isn't too bad. Mikey on the other hand? I guess he didn't let himself go like I did after we moved." she shrugged and looked down the hall and a few kids walking away. Suddenly someone she did not recognized turned the corner. "Now.. who the hell is that."
The guy looked to be Mikey's age, the same height and a little bit more of defined muscles. His curly hair peaked out from the red bandanna he was wearing. He gripped onto the strap of his shoulder bag as he made his way down the hall. He would glance at a piece of paper every so often.
" Holy mother of the gods, don't mind if I do." Alex smirked and started to walk towards the new kid. Cat rolled her eyes and pulled him back to her. "Hey now, I just wanted to see if he was straight or not."
"And scare him off? Alexander, please. You're not the best when it comes to introductions." she picked up her books and dragged Alex along with her.The new kid had noticed them but made no effort to follow. He reached his locker and started to take out his books.
