The World of In Between

Laksh looked around him as Swara stood in front of him. A moment ago he was trying to control his car and now he was standing outside and looking at his Swara. A cold sensation took over Laksh as Laksh started to feel light.

"Am I dead?" Laksh looked at Swara as a blue light surrounded him and Swara. Swara held out her hand as Laksh grasped on it. This time she wasn't a dream she was there. For the first time in a year, Laksh could feel his Swara. As soon as both of their hands touched Laksh felt himself being lifted from the floor. Below him, he could see his body, covered in blood. But at that moment he only cared was being with his Swara. As he came face to face with her the blue light and fog surrounded them.

"Am I dead?" Laksh asked Swara once again. Swara remained silent and turned around and started walking in the opposite direction. "Swara," Laksh called again, but Swara continued walking. She walked past the clouds till she came into the clearing where a curtain of vines blocked the way. Swara flipped through the vines and walked through. Laksh followed behind her.

Both of them came to a beautiful garden. It was surrounded by flowers and a marble water fountain stood in the middle of the garden. The water was so blue and so clear. As they both walked around the garden small golden lights surrounded them. Laksh looked around as the lights bounced around him and Swara.

"Where are we?" Laksh asked again. Swara turned toward Laksh and smiled. She looked around and touched a small golden light. Laksh tried to touch one but it moved away from him.

"We are in the land of in-between." Swara finally spoke. Laksh looked around him, it was true this place was nothing like reality. Those golden lights, the clouds of blue smoke around him, and him floating.

"So..I am dead." Laksh finally said as he looked around him then at Swara. Swara smiled at Laksh.

"When were you even alive?" Swara asked. Laksh looked at her confused. "Don't pretend not to know what I am talking about Laksh. You know what I am talking about." Swara continued.

"I..I don't know." Laksh replied even though he understood what Swara asked him. Since Swara's death he was living like a corpse. It was as if he died and not Swara. Swara smiled as she was able to read what was Laksh thinking. Laksh looked at Swara when she begin to walk away. "Where are you going?" Laksh called out. But Swara continued walking through the fog. Laksh followed her once again.
