I stand at the gates at the Volturi castle, my scarf and shades on. There is a small festival going on, every human here is wearing a red cloak. The blood actually smells good, causing my throat to tingle. Aro is expecting you, I think to myself, get to the castle. Tell the Volturi guards, Felix and Demitri, that Aro is expecting you.
I brush my nerves aside and I begin walking through the large crowd of humans. Their blood is intoxicating, but I fight the urge- I don't want to be a human killing monster.
I shove the palace doors open with my vampire strength, and step inside. I remove my scarf and shades as two men whip around to face me.
"Aro is expecting me," I work myself up to saying.
Felix looks at me and nods, "follow us."
I follow the two down the hall a good ways until we reach a hole in the wall- going down. Felix goes down first, and reaches his up upward. I take his hand and he helps me down.
"Thanks," I say.
"Mhm," Felix hums before leading me down yet another hall.
Demitri disappeared a while back, so I am left alone with Felix. I'm okay with that, Felix actually seemed less scary. Felix is bigger than Demitri, but still seemed a lot less scary.
Finally, Felix stops in front of a very large set of iron doors with the Volturi crest on it.
"This is the throne room," Felix says before pounding on the door. "The Volturi are in there."
"Enter," a Greek Vic's chips and Felix shoves the doors open.
"After you, miss Cullen." Felix winks at me.
As we enter the throne room, I notice there are two members in their thrones, Aro and Caius. Marcus is missing. As soon as that through crosses my mind, a y'all man enters from behind a wall, and he looks at me and just stands there- a look of astonishment on his face.
"Brother, sit." Caius says hesitantly, he notices the look on his face.
Marcus's eyes never leave me as he clasps his hands together, and sits. Aro stands and he takes a small journey down the steps.
"Felix, leave us." Aro says as he stops right in front of me. "May I?"
Aro grabs my hand when I give him permission, and he closes his eyes. His lips twitch a little here and there before he opens his eyes- recognition in his eyes.
"Your mother's Libby." Aro is shocked.
"Yes," I reply. "She died when I was born. My caretaker told me."
Aro looks back to Marcus, who looks emotionless at the moment but is still staring at me. Caius is even wide eyed as he looks between Marcus and myself.
"Tell me, Jodi, why are you here?" Aro asks.
I think what's going on with me and reach my hand out.
"Carlisle told me of your ability, Aro." I speak in a steady tone.
Aro's smile widens before he takes my hand. His eyes close and he reads my mind for a few minutes.
"Can I taste?" Aro asks.. "just a taste, and I can tell."
"I'll do it," Marcus says, slowly standing. "She is my offspring, I will see."
Aro nods, "very well, brother."
Aro has a seat in the middle throne as Marcus.... My dad approaches me. He gently pushes a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Moiázeis akrivós ópos tis." Marcus says, saying I look like her. "Tilt your head back, child."
After reassuring look in Marcus's eyes, I tilt my head back. Marcus bites into my neck, and all I feel is a pinch.
"Mm," Marcus says as he wipes the trinkle of blood off the scar. "Her vampire is in the process of killing her human."
"Carlisle wants her here until she is able to control her urges," Aro says. "Wants her on an animal diet."
"Very well," Marcus speaks. "Your human will be dead by the end of the week. Three weeks to maintain a good diet..... About a month, and you will be back in Forks."
I nod, "where's my room?"
"Jane," Aro says.
"Yes, master?" Jane asks.
"Show Jodi Cullen to her room," Aro says, looking at me. "Jodi, I hope you enjoy your stay here."
Jane is a girl slightly younger than I in human years, with her blonde hair pulled into a tight bun with crimson red eyes.
Jane leads me down a different hall than I came down earlier, and stops at a room where Felix is guarding.
"Felix is your guard for your stay," Jane says. "Aro's orders."
I eye Felix and smile. "I can deal with that."
Felix smiles softly to himself before I enter my room. My bags are on the floor at the door of the bed, Felix brought them. I lay something out to wear for my stay tomorrow, and I grab the phone. I dial Emmett's number, needing to talk to someone familiar.
"Hello?" Emmett says into the speaker, causing me to smile.
"Tinker bell!" I squeal.
"Jodi," Emmett laughs. "You made it to Italy."
"Guess who my father is!" I say. "I just learned myself, and I'm uneasy."
"Who is it, Jodi?" Emmett asks seriously.
"Marcus Volturi is my father," I reply. "He. Claims. Me."
"Jodi," Carlisle's voice said when Emmett's silences. "Did Aro say what was wrong?"
"Marcus took a taste of my blood, since I am his offspring," I say. "My vampire is officially killing my human side. I'll be full vampire in a week. My urges will be controlled in three. It is the royals teaching me."
"Good," Carlisle replies. "Marcus is your father?"
"Yes," I reply. "I am going to sit in the throne room tomorrow, maybe."
"Be careful, Jodi." Carlisle says. "See you in a month."
I place the phone back on the receiver, and I grab a book I packed. It is thicker than the novel I bought before all my changes.
I turn to the first page, and begin reading all night.
