Chapter 31
*Jenna's POV*
I took a deep breath. I could feel the pull of magic, but it wasn't strong enough to command me. "No. Do you know what would happen to you if I did?"
"Yeah. I'd be stronger and faster just like you."
"No, Jake, it'll be harder for you to phase, you won't be able to use the elements as well as you can. And the powers you got from this spell, they'll almost disappear."
"What if you didn't bite me?"
"I'm on board with that plan." I crossed my arms and leaned against the tree behind me.
"Like you did with Clayton, just take it from someone else."
"It doesn't work like that. I was able to take the gene from Clayton because it ran in his blood, meaning anyone can become a werewolf just by putting any other wolf's blood in them. Vampires don't have blood. It wouldn't work."
"Jenna! Jake?!" I heard Hannah yell.
"Later." I called out to her. "Yea?!"
She appeared next to us. "Where'd you go?" She shrugged. "If you guys still wanna sleep, there's a cot back at the house. One of you is going to have to sleep on the floor. Unless you decide to share it." She started chuckling. "I nominate Jake for the ground." Hannah raised her hand.
Jake did too. "I second that."
"Then what are we still doing here?" I smiled and looped my arm through Jake's, giving him a little kiss on the cheek before we took off.
'Jenna, why don't I smell you or me?'
'I don't know. Protection, I guess.'
"Now, there aren't many cities or towns left that Alec hasn't- Jenna, Jacob, what happened to you?" Dad said when he saw us.
"Oh, same old same old. Went out for a run, met up with some Vampires, kicked their butts. All in a day's work." I head to the cot that Hannah pointed out and fell back onto the bed. "I'm going to sleep. Wake me if you need me." I closed my eyes and was instantly asleep.
"Jenna, come now or face the punishment," Alec drawled.
"I'd rather gouge out my own eyes and then eat them than come over and watch the humans die." I kept a firm hold on Jake, both with telekinesis and my hands. He was unable to move.
"Get out of here Alec, you know no one wants you here."
"Very true, witch, very true."
I hissed at him. Elthem growled back, but Arianna tugged on his arm a little to get him to back down. He shrugged her off.
"Alec, my power has grown since you saw me last. I'm stronger now, and no one will ever be able to defeat me."
A guard moved forward and I hissed, baring my fangs at him. "Attack me now and you'll die right there."
He laughed. It sounded so ugly, like that of five years ago, before I molded to Jenna. Actually, right before. Their voices sounded so destructive, like death.
"Oh!" I gasped, flying up to a sitting position. "Jake!" I reached over to shake him before realizing, he really needed to sleep.
"I'm awake." He rubbed his eyes and sat up.
"Sorry. I woke you up, didn't I?"
"Not really. What did you need to talk to me about?" So I told him about my dream. "One question. Was I a third-Vampire in your dream?"
