Imagine- Isabella comes home, pale and feeling dizzy. She couldn't sleep the night before and she didn't tell her parents because she didn't want them to worry. Katrina is at a friends house and ichabod is at home. He gets worried and he helps her get better.

The snow lightly fell in New York, so many people walking down the streets. It was the beginning of winter, a few weeks from Christmas.

Walking down the streets was Isabella... but she didn't look too good. She looked extremely pale, with bags under her eyes. Her eyes were half lidded, a bead of sweat covering her forehead. She felt really lightheaded and exhausted... I mean really bad.

Some people looked at her, muttering "I hope she's ok." Under their breath.

She finally made it back to her house, her shaking hands opening the door. Sitting on the sofa was ichabod, reading a book. He heard the door open and turned to look over his shoulder, his eyes widening when he saw his daughter leaning against the wall, looking as pale as a ghost.

"Oh my god..." he muttered worriedly as he quickly set down his book and rushed towards her.

As he rushed towards her, her eyes fluttered and she fainted, starting to fall. As she fell, he quickly scooped her unconscious body in his arms, watching her head tilt back. One arm around her waist, the other one dangling limp.

He didn't know why she fainted but he was extremely concerned.

He rushed up the stairs, trying not to trip and walked into her bedroom. He carefully laid her down on the bed before walking to the bathroom. He grabbed a cool rag before walking towards her and gently draping it across her forehead.

He gently placed the back of his hand against her cheek, checking for a temperature. She didn't have a fever, thank god. But why did she pass out?

He then noticed the bags under her eyes... did she not sleep well?

A soft groan escaped her lips, her hands twitching slightly. Her head slightly moved, making her eyebrows furrow.

He sat down on the edge of the bed, looking at her worriedly. "easy dear..." he whispered.

Her eyes barely opened. The poor thing.

"Honey... did you not sleep well last night?" He asked concerned as he gently moved her hair out of her face.

It was true. She didn't get a lot of sleep last night. But she didn't want to tell her parents because she didn't want them to worry.

"I-I didn't... I-I kept getting bad dreams..."

Ichabod looked at her sadly. Why wouldn't she tell them? She could tell them anything.

"Why didn't you wake me or your mother up? You know you can tell us anything," he said softly as he gently dabbed the rag against her forehead.

"I-I didn't want you to worry..." she said as she looked at him with half lidded eyes. Man, she looked exhausted.

He looked at her with his brown eyes. "My cardinal, don't be afraid to wake me or Katrina up. We want you to feel safe. You can always talk to us."

He leaned down and gently kissed the bridge of her nose.

"Do you want anything?" He asked softly as he gently stroked her cheek.

She looked at him tiredly. "W-will you stay with me for a little?"

Ichabod couldn't help but smile softly at his daughter as he gave a small nod. "Sure. I'll stay." He watched her curl up tightly, her eyes tightly closing. She still felt dizzy.

He moved the covers over her body. "Just take it easy and get some rest sweetheart..."

Before she knocked out, she whispered. "I -I love you papa..."

She then fell asleep, ichabod watching her. Not in a creepy way. More of a protective father way.

He gently kissed her cheek before gently running his fingers through her hair.

"I love you too my baby girl. So much."
