Julian's POV.
“Give me two shots. " I tell the bar tender who looks at me worried but then nods and obeys my command.
After I left Abby's place, I headed to the bar to clear my head. I don't know why I feel so stupid and upset with myself.
The bartender brings the drinks and I gulp it all down. This is my fifth and sixth round.
I didn't know Abby's faith was that important to her. I mean, I was being truthful, the church is not what it seems. It's so full of fake and judgemental hippocrates. I've had so much experience with that.
I used to be a church boy. I'd go there every Sunday and I had friends. We'd talk, joke around and all. Then, my mum had cancer, I prayed really, really hard for her to recover, but she died. I thought, well, God knows what he's doing. Then, my dad became depressed and drunk a lot. Then he began to pressurize me to do what he wanted. I thought, oh I had friends back there who could help me, then, my ‘friends' decided to leave me because of my money all along, they were in for the money.
See, when my mom was alive, she'd pay for lavish parties and I'd invite all of them. When she died and dad got drunk all the time, the parties stopped and so did they.
From then on I realized the church is not what it is. They pretend and that's it. I'd rather be a wonderer that be a member.
Dad got married again, she's not bad but I've never given her much attention.
I gulp down another set of drinks and my vision begins to get blurry.
“Sir... " I hear Lionel's voice from behind me.
“What are you doing here? " I ask him angrily.
He smirks, “It's a bar sir, it's for public use. " He ends in chuckles but I frown.
“What's wrong with you sir? " He asks. “You look like you had a rough day. "
“You think. " I say.
He smirks and nods.
“ Sir, can I talk to you one on one, man to man? " He said and I nodded.
“I don't know what you've been through in life, but I think you should take it low. Be on our level, if not for long, for a short period. Stop being sorry to say a pain in the backside, be low, love life and don't die young if you know what I mean. " He says.
I nod and laugh hysterically. “Who do you think you are telling me what I should and shouldn't do? "
He looks at me with a smirk and shakes his head. “Sorry boss. " He says and I smile.
“Can I ask you for a favour? " He nods.
“I've never asked you this or anyone not even Igor so don't go spilling it out. " I say sternly.
“Sure. " He says.
“ Can you help me with my attitude?" I ask.
“What?? " He looks at me shocked.
“ I said, can you help me with my attitude. I know I'm mean but I see how you treat people, especially women, so I need you to somewhat mentor me. I'll pay you if you want. " I say and he smirks.
“I have no problem with that. But don't worry, I don't need the money. " He says.
“Okay, thank you. " I look over to find a glass almost empty, I reach over to take it but Lionel grabs it before I can.
“Hey!! " I yell.
“Your first lesson, learn to tone down on your drinking. " He puts money on the counter and helps me up from my seat.
“Okay boss, let's get you home. " He says while struggling to carry me and I can't help but laugh out loudly.
