Julian's POV.

“Hello son... " Nana says to me over the phone.
“Are you asleep yet? " She asks me.

I chuckle, “No Nana, I'm awake. Just came back from a party. " I say.

She gasps, “Oh Mon Dieu!!! " She says reminding me that she's French and I laugh.

“Take your time Nana, it was not a rowdy party and I'm not drunk. I was invited to Abigail's party remember. " I tell her.

“Oh, okay... " She says. “Oh that's really nice, how was it?"

“It was okay... " I shrug.

“And how was the young miss, huh? Was she looking beautiful? " She asks hurriedly.

I smile, “She was breathtaking. "

She sighs, “Did you hit it off with her? "

I sigh, “No, I don't think so. " I say unsure.

“Why? " She asks confused.

“I don't know... We did talk and all. She invited me to church though. " I say smiling.

“What?? Really!!! " She shouts on the phone. “Praise the Lord!!! "

I can't help but laugh.

“It's only to church now, Nana. And I'm not going to say that it's not a big deal. The last time I did that, I totally regretted it. " I say.

“Oh my son, I'm so happy for you now. " She says. “I must meet this Abigail! " She says in a funny French accent.

“Don't worry Nana, you'll meet her. Even dad hasn't met her. " I say.

“Really? " She asks.

“Yeah. " I say.

“Nana, today she just made me speak and just come out of my shell. It's been a while since I felt this way. " I say.

She huffs, “I'm glad son, I really am. I'm soo happy. Listen, when you guys decide to visit me, just let me know so I'd back her a lovely Shepard's pie or maybe she'll prefare croissants? " She asks and I laugh.

“I don't know yet but don't worry, I'll let you know. " I say.

“Oh son, I'm so happy for you now. I really am. I fell so so happy. " She says and I smile.

“Thank you. " I say.

“She's a true blessing. " She says. “Why didn't you hit it off with her? "

I sigh, “I don't know, when we were coming home she began to talk about her relationship status. She's never had a guy before. "

I hear Nana gasp, “Really now? " She asks and I nod.

“She's been single because she's been waiting for the one. And Nana, she's a virgin. " I say, a little bit too loudly.

“What?? " Nana shouts. “Praise the Lord!! " She says as she starts to sing out loud then stops.

“So son, what is the problem? Don't you like that? " She asks me.

“No, it's not like I don't like that but thinking about it, she deserves someone better. " I say frustrated.

“She doesn't deserve a jerk like me, Nana, we both know that I've not been pure in that sense. Why would she keep herself only to fall for a guy like me?" I sigh. “ She doesn't deserve me or in better words, I don't deserve her. "

The place is silent for a while then I hear Nana sigh.

“My son, don't think like that. You might not have saved yourself in that sense but if you truly love each other, it won't matter who deserves what. You'll all be equal and she will she you just as Christ sees you, pure my son, pure. As white as snow. " She sighs. “Don't deny yourself a beautiful gift like this just because you think you are unworthy, we are all not worthy of God's love and forgiveness but He gives it to us everyday, sometimes without us even asking. "

I listen to Nana's words and they warm my heart, giving me a little comfort and hope.

“It's late now son... You have church tomorrow so I'll go now, sleep tight alright... " She says.

I smile, “Thank you... But Nana, why did you call? " I ask.

“Umm... Nothing dear!!! " She tells me but I know she's lying.

“Nana, you'll be going to church tomorrow, don't start sinning now. What is it? " I ask her and she sighs.

“You're other love conquest... " She says.

“Claudette?? " I ask confused.

“Yes my son, she came here today demanding to see you. " She says.

I rub my face in frustration.

“What does she want? " I ask.

“Alright Nana, I'll take care of her. " I say, stretching my head out of frustration.

“Alright son, good night. " She says.

“Good night. " I say back.
