Chapter 12- Crossed Paths

Jet saw what he did, but he wish he hadn't. "You're insane Scrouge! How could you do this!" He yelled.

He replied split second afterwards. "Revenge! It is a noble asset, and it will not be questioned!" Scrouge said with anger. He grabbed jet by the throat. "I have had it with your failures and whines. Good bye Jet." He said. He then looked at the window, then looked at Jet with an evil grin. He threw his arm forward and threw Jet out the high window.

"Sonic please talk yourself out of this!" Amy yelled. "This is the only way Amy." Knuckles, Shadow.. I'm going to need you." He said wht a serious look. Rouge looked into Knuckles eyes. He already knew what she was thinking. "I have to." He said faintly. Rouge hugged him tight, and kissed him on the lips. Afterwards she walked over to Shadow and hugged him right as well.

Sonic then looked at them both. He nodded to them and they nodded back. Knuckles jumped on Sonic's shoulder, and Shadow just used his speed. They ran towards the red laser into the sky. But they stopped when they saw Jet laying down on the brick sidewalk. Bleeding to death. He looked up at Sonic and his partners, who were snarling at him. "Are you going to kill me? If so do it quick." Jet said.

Sonic glared at him. "Why.." Sonic said with a ticked tone. "Why what..?" He said with a gasping cough. "Why all this.. Why trying to kill me and..." That's when he stopped and his glare got angrier and more brutal. He roared loudly in Jet's face. "I was under orders!" Jet yelled. Sonic picked him up by his head feathers.

"You can go back and live a life of nothing and self loathe, or help us stop him." He calmed down and said. Jet looked at Sonic for a minute. "Let me get my Hawks." He replied with a grin.

Jet grabs his board, and tags along with the three. Now a team of four. "Where are your little friends?" Knuckles said sarcastically. "At our place. You think you're the only ones with a hidden hang out?" He shot back. " "well where is your place at..?" Sonic asked.

They all found their way into Jet's hidden hangout in center city. Theirs, was disguised as a broken down apartment. He showed them the front door, and they went in.

"Hey Je-   What the hell is that?!" Wave the Hawk yelled as she looked up frightened. "This... Is Sonic."Jet answered back. "What happened to him!" She yelled in fear. "I don't know, no one told me that part." He shot to her. Her frightened face turned into a concerned and angry face. "Well why is he here.?" She said angrily.

"He found me lying on sidewalk. Oh yeah, I'm okay by the way. Thank you for asking." He said to Wave. She smiled and walked up to him. She grabbed him really tight and hugged him. She then kissed him on the cheek. Sonic looked at the two. He understood what Jet was protecting now.

He understood, why Jet had to do what he did. Jet looked back at Sonic. He looked at him with a concerned face. "Now you see what I fight for. If I never did what he said, she'd be gone.and I'm not letting him touch her." He said as he looked at her.

"But now that the hawks are out of the picture, what do you say about some revenge?" The Hawk said with a smirk at Sonic. "Wait, I thought there were three of you guy?" Knuckles said curiously. Wave looked down at the ground, and Jet held her tight.

"We lost him to Scrouge.." Wave said as she closed her eyes with a distressed face.

As Sonic's emotions were starting to take him over again, his form began to shrink. And as he did, knuckles jumped off his shoulder so he would crush Sonic. "So you can just do that whenever?" Wave said curiously. "Only on a full moon or anger. He spoke back.

"Hmm... Okay then." She said. "Okay Sonic we've got my crew, where's yours?" Jet said to Sonic. "Back at the house. They're in the safe room that is undetectable. Not even Scrouge can find it." Shadow said. "Well let's go get em!" Jet said happily.
