Chapter 5: New Powers

"Don't do it" Ruby said.

The Avengers were seated around a big table and the Accords were in Tony's hands. Natasha, Tony, Jim, and Vision had signed it while the others refused. It had been a day since the incident on Central Park and Ruby had been trying to practice with Wanda, but it would always end in nosebleeds. Natasha was now in Vienna with all of the 117 counties who approved of the Accords. Tony and the others who agreed to them were trying to persuade the rest into signing it.

"We don't have a choice" Tony said and raised the pen.

"They talk about safety, yet on the attack on New York they wanted to nuke the city.." Ruby mumbled.

Steve turned to her and frowned. "You're right, kid" He said.

"Look, don't go taking sides with her. There are a lot of things you won't understand." Tony said and gave the Accords to Steve.

"Oh. You think I didn't understand? Well for one thing, I know that Ultron was not a mistake" She stated out.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Tony asked, trying to avoid eye contact.

"You made Ultron in your lab...with Bruce Banner" She said smirking.

"How do you know that?!?" Tony yelled.

"Well in my free time I would go to the library and I found out how to get into your system undetected." She said. "And to be honest, it was way too easy. You should probably upgrade your system"

"Defiantly your daughter" Jim said.

Tony sighed and looked at Steve. "Aren't you going to sign it?" he asked

"No, I'm still not with the rules they want us to follow." Steve said.

"You know what forget it. You're not my child." Tony said. He got up and handed the Accords to Ruby. "You'll need to sign this"

"I'm not an Avenger.... Am I?" She asked.

"You are now." He said.

"That's so cool, thanks" She said with a huge smile that showed her dimples. "But....either way, I'm not signing it"

"Fine! Don't sign it" Tony yelled. "But don't go crazy again like you did yesterday, ok?"

"It's not like I can control it" She muttered. "And you're being a huge dick right now..."

"I'm your father. I can be a dick whenever I want to!!" He exclaimed

"A father who I just met!" She yelled back

"Go to your room!" He roared

"YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF ME!!!" She roared causing the ground to shake a bit.

Ruby couldn't take his bossy, controlling self anymore. She looked around one last time before getting up from her seat.

"Ruby wait" Steve called, but she tilted her head and sent a chair into his direction.

She walked through the halls until she found the room she had spent the night. She got into the room and with her mind she slammed the door shut. She fell into her soft bed and looked up to the ceiling. A few weeks ago she was worried about money and now she had a fight with her father. Her life just gets weirder and weirder. Then she wondered where Winter was. She thought she killed him, but they said that he was still alive. She wondered if he would still remember her. Memories started to rush back to her.
