Your POV

Oh boy, classes were really boring in this academy, but I wanted to be a witch so eh. I had some help from Susie about brewing potions, and that ended with me being the guiney pig. Some thought it was funny, otherwise I found it to be humiliating. "Akko, can you come with me?" I waved her over. "Sure, what's up?" She said with both her hands behind her head.

"Who is the smartest of all their classes?" I asked with an idea. "Diana Cavendish, and she's somewhat a pain so" alarming me that she's behind us. "We'll continue later" I rushed off. I ran past Diana and her "friends" who were laughing at me for the way I look. Who are those two anyway?

I went toward the bathroom, washed up, and thought of my plan. "Game plan, Diana is the smartest so if I have a little game with her, we could see who's the smartest after 3 weeks or so" noticing that it would kill time as well. Perfect, now all I have to do is wait. Of course, I could just go to the library to kill time even more. "I wonder what stories await me there" I told myself.

"But Diana, we really need that spell done" one girl said from inside the Library. " We cannot perform such disastrous spells on these grounds" Diana said aloud. It just turns out, those two girls were Barbra and Hannah. 'Just what I needed' whilst heading inside and walking past the three of them. "Metamorfe phocus" Diana had casted, as she turned into a pegasus.

"Diana, that's amazing!" Hannah had clapped for her. "You can never stop being impressed by Diana" Barbra grabbed her bag and linked arms with Hannah. Both Hannah and Barbra had walked out of the Library, saying their goodbyes as I was safe to casually walk around the multiple aisles. "Potions, spells, brewing, flying, oh here it is" as I found the aisle on how to decipher codes for witches. I grabbed two books on translating and writing it, then headed toward a table.

Surely, this would help me with the majority of my classes. I started reading what seemed like half of a chapter when I heard someone walking up to me, but ignored it. After a while, the suspect had tapped me. "Excuse me, are you the new student?" a woman had asked. "Yes I am, and whom may you be?" I asked not paying attention, while I was still reading.

I closed the book and turned around to see Diana Cavendish standing right in front of me. "Oh hello, Diana. Sorry for not paying attention" I stared away from her figure. "No, my apologies for not introducing myself to you" Diana had put a hand on my shoulder.

"I was wondering if you had received a gift from your first day" Diana said while retreating her hand. "Yes I did, and it was signed from you, yes?" I asked curiously, something seemed off. "I want to make you feel welcome to Luna Nova, as it is the home of all us witches. I surely hope you enjoyed the treats I made" Diana exclaimed as she held her hands behind her back.

"You had made these? Why thank you, I haven't had pastries like those in a while" I finished off before remembering how I left my hometown. They had amazing pastries that made my mouth water, and how I played with my friends, waiting for my mom to call us in for Honey buns. Tears formed in the corner of my eye, as I started sniffling and wiping my tears away.

"Are you okay, y/n?" Diana asked with pleading eyes. Diana had wiped off tears from my cheeks with her soft hands, as I calmed down and a blush crept upon my face. "Why'd you help me?" I asked. Nothing had been said from her until she reached the Library doors. "You are one of my friends, and I'll do anything to keep those happy."

I stood there completely shocked, wondering if a contest was really necessary, after all she had became my friend, so I should treat her as one.

I grabbed my books, took them to the librarian, checked them out and left to my dorm room. Since she had done something for me, what if instead of a contest I impress her with a magic spell? Excellent idea! I'm lucky there are many books arrayed on my bookshelves. Slowly placing one after the other, the two books from the library were on the shelves and I had taken out the spell books, then placed them on my desk.
