Greatest Treasure - Chapter 5

"Attention!" the broom flying instructor, Nelson, declared to the students. Everyone stood up straight, and kept their head up proudly high. "As I said before, there will be no horseplay on these brooms for you assignment" Nelson said eyeing Amanda who was already smiling. "Come on, Nelson, we never have fun" Amanda said now crossing her arms in defeat. "That won't be necessary for today, Amanda" Nelson let off with a huff. "Now, about your assignment!".

Your POV

"There are scattered clues everywhere in many secluded areas of Luna Nova, and the grave yard, town, dragon's den, and forbidden forest. You must follow them to the grand prize" Nelson said whipping out a map of all the areas, and marking where the main clues begin. "Now you'll also be paired up with another person of my choosing for this assignment, so it'll be a test of trust and friendship" Nelson said closing her map, and revealing a list of names together.

Time Skip

I was one of the last people to get picked from the list, and to my surprise, I was paired with Diana! Akko was paired with Sucy, and Lotte was paired with Constanze. Everyone else gained a random other witch friend. "Now remember, the forbidden forest is dangerous, so stay alert when you go there" Nelson finished off before sending everyone to their brooms. "Now go and search for your first clue here at Luna Nova" Nelson said directing everyone to the front door.

"Hey, Diana" I said racing up to her with my broom in hand. Diana turned from the front door, and softened her expression. "Hello, Y/n, guess we're partners, yeah?" Diana shined brightly through her smile. It was such a sweet smile... wait what? Never mind that, I gotta stay focused. "So where do you think the first clue could be?" I asked pushing away my feelings from the situation. Diana placed her hand under her chin in thought, and gave a low hum.

"Let's check the big rooms first like the Meeting room, Library, or even the Dining Hall" Diana said pointing at the direction of those rooms with little effort. "Alright, lead the way" I said following behind Diana as she lead the way to the Cafeteria first. We kept our pace at a fast one, hoping no one else found the clue before us. Diana and I entered the Cafeteria, realizing it was quiet as night. No one is here, so maybe we will find it first! "Over here!" I said waving over to Diana. Quickly, she ran over to my area of the room.

"Well let's see what we have" Diana said as I opened up the note folded up. "Okay, so it says ' Travel far you must, to a place trespassed overnight. Broken into ruins, and was last visited by a fight" I read aloud the note while folding it back up, and hiding it under the table where it was taped. "But where would that be?" I said while holding my chin in confusion. "Hm" Diana hummed before her eyes lit up with surprise. "I know where that is" Diana said, grabbing my hand in a  hurry. "Okay okay, we're going" I said being nearly dragged down.

Time Skip

We have made it to our destination, which would be the Rastavan Ruins where apparently Diana and several other witches were ambushed by dragons. "So you've been here before, why?" I asked walking beside her with my broom in hand. "The dragons were going to take the sorcerer's stone for themselves if we didn't pay them back with money" Diana said keeping her head forward, watching every step of the way. "So what did happen?" I asked tilting my head a bit to get a better view of Diana's face. "We flew in on brooms, and then dragons began spewing fire at us, most of us nearly getting caught, until we found tunnels leading to a lab" Diana explained. I kept listening closely, until noticing a crater coming up on the walkway. 

"Careful!" I said pulling Diana's arm back quickly before she fell in. A big crater of ash and rubble stood in front of us, exposing parts of the tunnels that were dug out neatly. We made ourselves welcome to explore the tunnels in search of our next clue. I know Diana can solve this next puzzle! We made our way to a room filled with computers and modern looking stuff, however, the room was gigantic! How will we ever find the clue for our next location?
