Summary

Corey Wendy Griffin was raised in captivity.

She was born on the Ark, a floating space station that held the last of humanity after the earth was left soaked in radiation when a nuclear war took place 97 years ago. 

She was born the daughter of a second child, meaning that her fathers existence was a crime. One that she would pay the price for.

Her father was a second born child kept hidden for years, he eventually got to adulthood only to fall in love, have a child and be found, he and his wife were both killed, though on the Ark they use the term floated in order to humanise the act of justified murder.

Corey was to be raised in captivity, only seeing her aunt and uncle once a year when they were allowed to visit on her birthday.

That was until the previous year they never showed, she was never told why, not until one day when she was taken to a drop ship filled with one hundred other prisoners like herself whose crimes got them locked up, including her cousin Clarke. 

And their destination? Earth.
