This takes place in and around Season 8 to Season 13 it deviates from the past cannon but some events remain the same.
The fall from heaven was excruciating. If he still had his grace, Castiel would have probably burned alive, but he was teleported down by Metatron, so when he was finally able to sit down for a second after running from Hael, who wanted him as a vessel, he felt the enormity of human emotions, and broke down in tears. A part of him was missing, a hole in his soul slowly opening and dragging him in. He should go back to Sam and Dean, but he couldn't move, sitting on a street corner the faint light making it near impossible for anyone else to see him. The cowering, pathetic, worthless human Castiel's mind supplied
The Winchester's don't want you! You're powerless,useless!
The fallen angel wanted to scream. The complexity of human emotions was overwhelming, fear made his heart feel as if it were about to burst, he had a pain in his abdominal region that he could only assume was hunger, his tongue felt dry and he all and all felt weaker than ever before. The worst was his back, his wings, they were gone, there were gashes down his back he couldn't heal without any grace. No, scratch that, the silence was the worst, he was so used to have hundreds of voices in his head, constant noise, even though recently the voices were plans to kill him.
Drained and on the verge of collapsing Cas got up and stumbled to a near by payphone, at the last second his strength failed, sending him careening into the telephone, he stayed hunched there for a second he gathered his energy and dialled the number that was ingrained in his memories. The Winchester's, his brothers and sisters had always said that he had fallen in love with Dean Winchester and, well, they were right but he didn't just love Dean, he loved with the humans. Dean was just a very special human but, Castiel had lost the "Vessel lottery" if he wanted a relationship with Dean. Cas didn't see the problem with same gender relationships, and he could feel Deans conflicted nature with the topic, but he tried not to pry, not look into those emerald eyes, not to feel the radiance of Deans soul, not to trip over himself into his arms, not to-"Cas! Is that you!" Dean seemed tired, yet there was a tinge of happiness and relief in his voice
" Yes Dean, it's me. Could you pick me up, I don't have my grace anymore and I am wounded, everything seems a bit fuzzy around the edges, I've never been human before but I don't think that I should feel like this" Dean would probably say no, he should keep driving, He's worthless without his-
"Of course Cas, I'll be there in a hour you try and get to a hospital, okay? Hang tight there for a few hours, I'll be there don't worry, it'll be okay"
"Thank you Dean, I'll seen you soon."
Castiel hung up and start to stumble down the road again hoping and praying that Dean would come soon.
Dean was panicking his angel was hurt, and he was miles away. When Cas had called, him and Sam had just gotten back and locked Crowley down. Sam had just gone to bed feeling ill and exhausted. While the call was happening Dean had tracked were his angel was 'Wait his angel, no, not his angel, Cas didn't like him like that with his ice blue eyes and that cute way he turned is head when he was confused. God dammit, he was straight, so straight, straight as a line.Yea right! You're about as straight as a rainbow slinky'
Dean promptly ignored his own train of thought and drove out of the bunker to find his family, his crush, his angel.
