They were standing in the dark warehouse, Gabriel and Sam, Gabriel standing in a ring of fire, tears streaming down his face, crying for a broken family he could never fix. Sam leaned back against the freezing metal wall, pulled the fire alarm and let the fire die. Surprisingly, the Archangel didn't fly away the moment he was free. Sam just stared at the water logged Archangel, his shoulders were slumped, his hair falling into his face. Sam started walking over, he wrapped his arms around Gabriel just as his legs gave out.
"Why Sam? What did everything have to happen like this?" Gabriel sobbed into his chest
"I don't know. But, I will do everything in my power to fix this ok?" Sam responded into Gabriel's hair. Quickly kissing his forehead.
"You're just a human, fuck, I'm an Archangel, if I can't do anything, then what can you do?" Gabriel reasoned. They stared at each other for a minute or so. Then, Sam started to lean forward, cupping Gabriel's cheek.
"I love you, and I'll do anything for you, have some faith." With that Sam closed the distance between his lips and Gabriel's. Green and yellow light flared around the room lighting it up like the Aurora borealis, Gabriel's massive golden wings became visible. Sam broke away looking panicked.
"What the fuck is happening?" He asked
"It's what happens when soulmates finally get together." Gabriel responded, looking faintly amused.
Before Sam had time to respond the scene changed, they were at the Elysian Fields hotel. Gabriel was standing behind Lucifer, his decoy yammering away, about to stab Lucifer. Sam knew what would happen next,
"Gabriel watch out! This won't work! It's not worth your life! Please!" Sam pleaded, but Gabriel didn't seem to hear him. At the last second he saw Lucifer turn and stab his angel in the chest. Gabriel grabbed his brothers arm, his eyes reflecting all the betrayal he felt without saying a word. Then, those alluring, stunning, magnificent golden eyes fluttered shut, Lucifer lowered the limp body of his sibling to the floor just in time for wings to burn a permanent, charcoal place on the floor. Sam felt pain, unlike anything ever felt before, it was like being burned alive, he couldn't stand it, a world without his soulmate. He couldn't! He wouldn't !-
Sam Winchester woke with what should have been a scream but refused to come out properly. His room flowed the same green it had in the dream, signifying his significant distress. The younger Winchester could keep the sign of his soulmates death under control during the day, but at night there was nothing he could do to stop it. Getting up and wandering through the halls of the bunker, Sam saw the bathroom light on. Wandering over he noticed the blood, still more or less fresh. Immediately, he turned and ran for his brothers room, turning the corner he realized that there was a blue-green light shimmering through the crack under the door. Carefully, Sam opened the door to see the source of the light, it was Castiel and his brother, who were on the bed, snuggling both asleep. I knew it Sam thought, looking down he spotted the first aid kit. Slowly turning around, Sam crept out of the room, past Kevin's room and to the bathroom once again. He began to clean it up, he'd ask what happed tomorrow, but for now at least one of the two of the Winchester's got their angelic soulmates.

Sorry for the shorter chapter there wasn't much else to do here though. This FanFiction will jump forward a bit until the main area of the plot (season 11) and that might not be cannon compliant.
