Dean woke up pleasantly surprised to feel something incredibly warm burrow further into his side than he thought was possible. All of a sudden, he remembered last night. The person laying in bed next to him was Castiel, and last night hadn't been a normal night. Castiel has tried to commit suicide. Subconsciously, Dean pulled his angel into a tight hug, convinced to never let him go again. Only then, when Cas opened his eyes did they notice the green-blue light surrounding their bed in a translucent haze. Castiel gasped and pushed himself up on the bed, ignoring the pain in his arms, his eyes grew wide.
"How is this even possible? I'm not a heavenly creature anymore." Cas wondered, his voice slightly joyful at the prospect of being considered heavenly again.
"What do you mean? What the fuck is going on?" Dean demanded, anger and frustration colouring his voice.
"Those lights are the sign of soulmates getting together, but it only happens to creatures of heaven" The former angel responded.
"The only way this should be happening is me being an Archangel, but that's impossible, so, I have no clue how this could be happening!" Cas continued, getting more and more confused as he thought about it. The lights turned off after a few more seconds. So, Dean got up pulling his angel with him.
Once Dean and Cas got to the kitchen they both were greeted with wide eyed stares from the other residents of the bunker. Quickly looking down, Dean realized why, they were both covered in blood and Cas looked like he'd walked out of a horror movie, pale, sweaty, blood all over and last but not least, Dean had dragged him out of the room without a shirt. Noticing his lovers growing embarrassment, Dean pulled Cas in for a hug. Then said to the rest of the room.
"How about you go shower, I'll change. Then we can both explain what happened together." At that his angel softly nodded before turning and wandering off to the shower. As Dean turned to go Sam grabbed his arm, quietly asking.
"Is Cas okay?"
"No, he cut himself and hasn't been eating, apparently we are also soulmates. I promise we can have this discussion in full detail after I'm not covered in my soulmates blood." With that Dean turned and walked down the hall, exulting more confidence than he really had, his cheeks starting to burn. Fuck! I have a soulmate, and I've already failed to protect him! His cheeks burned more making his blush at the prospect of having a soulmate, someone to care for, so noticeable you could see it from a mile away.
After his shower Dean pulled on some fresh clothes and wandering back into the kitchen. Kevin was, as per usual, reading the angel tablet, Sam was drinking a cup of coffee while reading beside Castiel, who was doing the same. Reluctantly Dean slid into the seat beside Kevin, and started the dreaded conversation.
"So Cas everyone here has the general idea of what happened last night, and it looks like it's been going on for a long time. So, why? Why would you do this to yourself?"

"I can't sleep, ever. When I do it's constant nightmares. I also don't understand why you all still want me around, I mean, I don't have my grace anymore, I'm pathetic at hunting and, everything I try to do right ends up going horribly wrong. I'm just a waste of space." Castiel took a quick breath before continuing.

"I'm so used to there being constant voices in my head, the voices of my siblings, also, now that I think about it all of my "Sam's" and "Dean's" are dead-"Sam interrupted.

"Sam's and Dean's?" He asked clearly confused.

"Well, all those angels you murder constantly, they are my brothers and sisters, they are the angels who took care of me and,who I took care of. I love them, like you two love each other."

Dean nodded slowly, looked at Sam, and in that second an action plan was formed.

"Okay, first of all, you are not a wast of space, and the fact that you don't have your powers doesn't make any of us think any less of you. There are sleeping pills we can try for your nightmares. Finally, now in place is a "If at all possible don't kill any angels" policy, okay?" Dean said, suddenly realizing how they had all been a terrible family.

"And I can get you something to create background noise. Also, if you ever need come talk to us okay?"
With that Castiel got up, walked around the table and snuggled into his side. Closing his eyes in what and forgetting the world for a little while, safe in their bunker, Dean reached down, softly grabbed his angels chin and kissed him. For the first time of many the bunker was filled with noise, movies playing, radios turned up, and if Dean and Cas fell asleep on each other at the end of the night, the picture Sam took would be the only reminder.

Okay, there was my go at fluff. Next chapter we skip to dealing with Metatron. The plot is almost the same.
