"Montgomery E.C? Isn't there where all the rich kids go to?"
"Yeah. And the ones who end up in Princeton too."
"Do you think they'll have a Quidditch team?"
"Stop! The three of you. This could actually take you to great places in the future, kids. Why are you even worrying about if they have a Queendich or whatever fantasy team?" spat the principal, looking at the three students sitting in front of her desk with disbelief.
"It's Quidditch" corrected one of the two boys, after a short moment of silence, trying to hold his laughter.
The woman gave a sharp look to the young man and then laughed curtly in astonishment. She couldn't believe that they didn't care less about going to a school most of students would give everything to go to.
"Do you even know the privilege you have in your hands? Out of three thousand students in this school, you were the only people chosen."
"Sure, Miss Collins. We're not saying we don't care. We just think that we will leave a lot of things unfinished here. Why can't we just wait until we graduate?" said the orange haired girl in a noticeable persuasive tone. The principal knew exactly what those unfinished things were. It was all linked to their favorite activities.
"Look, I know you all have outstanding grades and could get into any good university after you graduate. But that's why they chose you three. They want to see the potential you have." the woman explained, trying to calm herself down. "Besides," she continued. "it would be a great buzzkill. I bet your parents would be proud."
"Parents?" said the same boy from before. "They don't even care if I'm at school or not." he hissed.
Before the principal could say anything out of impatience, the quietest of the trio spoke.
"Principal Collins, with your permission, could you give us a moment? We'll be back with a clear answer." he promised with a reverance and hopeful grin. The other two looked at him with slight confusion.
The woman swung her hand telling them to get out as the three students stood up to leave. Once they closed the door of the office behind their backs, a bombardment of words came out of their mouths.
"Why do they want us to go so badly there?" the girl wondered.
"What the hell. I felt like I was being lectured by Fury." the tallest one criticized.
"Guys, we need to decide now."
They looked at each other in silence, utterly undecided. They even knew it was ridiculous everything they were putting up to their principal to not go to the early college. It had been part of their nature, every since they could remember, take decisions based on what they liked. Deep down, they knew the expiration date of maturing was really close.
That didn't go so much for Zack, though. He was always the one light at the end of the tunnel for Arya and Phillip. But together, they could be mentally chaotic.
"Okay," spoke Phillip, moving around his very expressive hands. "let's just do whatever you say, Zack. You're obviously the most clear minded out of us." he said as if it was the most apparent thing in the world.
The boy sighed. Since he was considered the "smartest one" out of the triangle, the weight was always put on him. He had been used to it for a while now, that's why he didn't even bother in protesting.
"Personally, yes. I think it would be nice to go. I just-"
"Then we're going!" Arya interrupted, faking her excitement.
"You didn't even let me finish." Zack pointed out.
"Whatever Huffle boy, let's just tell Miss Collins." Phillip concluded, making his way into the office again.
Zack sat first, and then Arya followed by Phillip. They glanced at each other and took a deep breath. The principal was about to lose it.
"I guess we're going to Montgomery." Arya finally spoke.
