NERVOUS ANXIOUS HEARTBEAT

Chapter Five

Daniella's PoV:

"Jump in" he said, and I sensed a commandment in his voice but I shook my head. "Daniella look at me" and I shook my head once again. I could hear him turn off the engine and walk towards me and I thought he was going to shout at me or something but he didn't. Suddenly I felt him wrapping his arms around me and embraced me with a hug. I didn't wince.

I felt my tears falling down my cheeks and he wiped them away for me. We stood there for a while, hugging each other when I finally could hear him whisper in my ear. "Do you want me to drive you home?" And I nodded slowly. He led me to his car and opened the door for me like a real gentleman which made me smile.

When he finally got into the driver's seat, I whispered a 'thank you' and we drove away. I picked up my phone and saw three texts and two missed phone calls from mum.

Hi Sweetie! I have to work overnight so you'll be home alone tonight. Is that alright? I have informed Mrs Myers that as well, so you can go over to her if there's anything. Lock all the doors, windows and sleep with your self-defence-kit. Everything will be alright.

Honey, Mrs Myers just told me that she'd let you sleep at her house tonight, which I think is a much better idea! You won't be alone then.

Daniella Brown! Please answer!!

I sighed and typed an 'okay' and then looked down at my hands. They were trembling. Apparently Zack noticed that as well and placed his hand over them. Once again, I didn't wince by his touch.

"Thank you for what you did for me at the party" I said but didn't wait for him to answer. "I can't believe that I was so stupid to believe that he would forgive me after I had hurt him. It's just that I can't really get attached with people..."

Suddenly I felt the car go to a halt and Zack looked at me with a serious expression. I could see that his whole body had tensed up and that he was clenching his jaw. And it was as if there was a storm in his eyes.

"Listen to me" he said with such power in his voice that I felt like crawling into a corner and hide. I could see that Zack was clenching his fist but it seemed like was trying to control himself. Trying to control his anger. "Chase has and will always be an idiot. Don't you ever let him touch you like that again, okay?!"

I nodded and whispered a 'okay' and he stared at me for a while as if he was reading me.

"Shiz I'm sorry Daniella" he said and I just looked at him, not knowing how to react. "I'm scaring you" he continued and threw a punch at the car. Then we both sat in silence, trying to calm ourselves down.

"Apparently I'm staying at your house tonight" I said out of nowhere.

"What?"

"Yeah, my mum is working overnight or something and Mrs Myers said that I could stay at your house". I looked up at him and saw that he was smirking.

"What are you smiling at Myers?"

"Nothing" he answered and then we drove off.

After a long drive, we had finally arrived and was greeted by Mrs Myers where she embraced me with a hug.

"Thank you for letting me stay her Mrs Myers" I say and she nodded. "Of course! But please call me Rebecka". I nodded and she pulled us into the house.
