He probably knew, when his sister caught him. Smoking. She told their mom. Of course she did. And his mom was angry and disappointed and shouted. Of course he wasn't allowed to smoke which made absolute no sense since his sister did it too. She's older. That was his mothers argument. A stupid one, he told her. That made her even more angry. She asked him what his friends would think and he shrugged. Not because he didn't care. No, because he honestly didn't know. He thought about it. He was friends with this girl. Was. The contact broke off. He was friends with him. Was. They ignored each other. No not true. One ignored the other one. He was sick of the ignoring. And he realized that he didn't have any friends. He wasn't even sad. He was a teenager. Didn't they all have no friends?
