Shy greeting

As she walked in, she then noticed that the majority of the class stared at her and suddenly she froze, the awkward and intense moment was then interrupted "Miss, is there a reason that you are late?" she looked at the girl waiting for an explanation.

"I um, sorry no.." she knew this wasn't gonna go well, "Well I'm not gonna let you off the hook, but I'm not gonna go hard on you since it's your first day, only a half hour detention after school, and what's your name?"

"Oh um Meredith Grey.." Derek smiled, he was glad he didn't have to ask her for her name, "Well Meredith why don't you go take a seat behind those two gentlemen in they back" Meredith quietly walked back there, Derek noticed that she was very nervous and shy, and of course Mark was the first to say hello "Hi, my names mark, and you must be Meredith" he said with the uttermost confidence and with a big grin on his face while holding his hand out to her.

Meredith puts on a small smile and slowly hands her hand out to him, they shake hands and Mark leans in a little closer, but not to where she would uncomfortable, he leans in and says "So what would it take for a guy like me to get a girl like you?" Derek yells loudly to him to where the whole class could hear "Mark, really?"

"Excuse me sir, is there a problem back there?" Derek realizes he's in a big problem now "Sorry Mrs. Webber"

"What's your name?" Derek can see where this is going and it's escalating quickly "I uh, ..Derek, um Derek Shepherd"

"Well Derek Shepherd, you have half an hour of detention as well after school with Meredith"
