Tuesday Part 2 Chapter 3
"GO, GO, GO!" I commanded like some general as we rammed into Cantarella's room. The men followed my orders as if they were engraved in their minds, and I was grateful to that. My eyes scanned the room, and I instantly saw them. Cantarella was out unconscious and her attacker was already beginning to climb out the window his head whipping around when he heard us. Wrong move, idiot.
"Let go of the girl, now!" I yell loudly against the roar of the wind coming in through the window. God, I thought the girl could at least protect herself long enough for us to come back, but no, she's so weak she gets knocked out too quickly! I mean, even when that Senior just slammed her head against the wall, BABAM, she's out cold. And she is supposedly aiming to be a Senior herself? HA! When my friend down there starts singing will be the day she's a Senior!
"Stephan, get you're head in the game," I hear one of my partners hiss from within his head phone. I roll my eyes. I don't really care about today's mission. It's just one girl and a stupid double agent that doesn't know how to keep his identity a secret. Meh, I should probably be paying attention to Cantarella though. The moment my eyes refocus onto her I notice the fact that she is now in the air and then... gone. Oh crap! Did he... did he just throw her out the damn window?!
Everyone instantly runs for the guy, and pins him down to the floor. Everyone except me. Desperate to find a way to save Cantarella, I search the room. She should have... aha! I ran rapidly to the wall next to her bed and hurriedly unhooked the pack off of it. She actually was prepared to run- or rather fly- away from the Bureau if necessary. I quickly strapped myself into the pack whilst running to the window at the same time. I barely catch the double agent saying something insane like, "You asked me to let her go! I did!"
"Stephan, what the Hell do you think you're doing?!" Janie hissed from the other side of my ear piece as I stood on the window sill of the girls room, a smirk on my face. I've always wanted to try sky diving before. Never thought I'd actually have to do it for a mission. "Stephan, don't you dare!" I launch myself out of the window and go straight into a diving position, laughing the whole time. "STEPHAN!" Janie says some more inane words that don't quite make it to me, thanks to my laughter and the fact that the connections going all staticky. Well finally I don't have to listen to that hag!
After a while of letting the adrenaline flow through me, I start my little search for Cantarella. This might be hard, seeing as I'm falling at about 60 mph, the winds making it hard to see, and Cantarella is the shortest girl I've ever seen before- like some elf!- which means I'll have trouble seeing her at all. It's a good thing her hair is black, otherwise things would be even harder for me.
I fumbled around in the bag for about a minute before finally finding some goggles. She really did think everything through for an escape plan. She's good at running away, I'll give her some credit for that. The wind seems to make me go deaf as I fall for what feels like an eternity. Strange, how I still can't find her, I mean, she can't be that hard to find! She's just a girl for Christ's sake! Yeah, a girl from the Noir family, I remind myself. Ugh, her dad's going to kill me if I don't find her!
"CANTARELLA!"
As if on cue, I see a splay of black not too far away from me; the unconscious Cantarella, hands floating above her head, clothes going every which way. Staring at her fall, there's this strange peacefulness to it all. Like watching a sleeping Goddess, or something like that. And even though she's being thrashed around slightly by the wind, it looks... graceful.
Wait! What am I saying? This is the bosses daughter that I'm talking about! And what the heck is with this whole, Goddess crap? Stupid Mr. Langer's got Shakespeare attacking my head! Shaking all those thoughts away, I start 'swimming' my way towards Cantarella as fast as possible, seeing as there's not too much air left to free fall in.
