16: THE NEW GIRL

"Khaira? "

Leo was standing a few inches from us and looked at me and Mason weirdly.

"Dominic," Mason said coldly and Leo just looked at him without saying anything.

"What are you doing here with him?" Leo asked me.

"I took her brother home. Any problem with it?" Mason stated, raising his left eyebrow.

"Do I ask you, William?" Leo's face looked very angry.

"Leo, it's true. He just accompanied me to take my belter home, " I explained to him.

"But seriously we didn't do an-," Leo cut me off with his icy tone.

"Bullshit, Khaira. Nothing happened?" He laughed without any humour in it. And he just walked away.

I tried to stop him but Mason hold me back.

I hoped out of my bed when my clock rang. I decided to buy breakfast for Leo and tried to ask for apologies. I didn't know why but I thought I became softer.

After doing my morning routine, exited my room and headed to the cafeteria.

After buying food, I searched for Leo and his friends. I heard loud chattering echoing at the corner of the cafeteria. I smiled to myself and made my way them.

Surprisingly, I saw a brunette girl sitting with them.

Who is she?

I awkwardly standing there watching them laughing happily. I glanced at Leo and noticed sparkles in his eyes looking at the girl.

"Ouh, Khaira. Didn't see you there," Ray exclaimed and that made all of the boys and that hoe turned to me.

Ouh! I knew that I already had a very nice nickname that suit her. Well, it's true.

"Just arrived," I stated with my blank face and sat down next to Ray.

Usually, Leo would greet me but not today. He just glanced at me and put her attention back to the girl.

"Oh! Who is she, " The girl questioned Leo and Leo's answer made my heart shattered on the ground.

"Just some friend, "

Wow! Unbelievable.

"Leo, let's go to class, " The girl walked away without sparing a glance at me. And guess what? Leo followed her like a lost puppy. What?!

I looked at Ray, Peter and Thomas and unsurprisingly, they already stared at me.

"Who's she?" I asked them as they looked at each other awkwardly.

Ray rubbed his neck and started,

"Sh-She's just-," He was cut off by Thomas,
"Some fr-old friend,"
"Yeah, true, " Peter finished very awkwardly.

I raised my left eyebrow and convinced them,

"I won't be jealous if she's his girlfriend,

"Yeah, she's," Thomas said and Ray's and Peter's eyes were wide open.

"You'll be killed by Leo for sure, " Ray stated and Thomas looked scared.

"Just tell me. I won't tell him but if you don't tell me, I tell him that you tell me about the ex-girlfriend thing," Lots of 'tell's in one sentence but I didn't care.

They all shut their mouth and Peter sighed,

"She was his childhood friend. He loved her but after things got more complicated to Leo, she left him. She's selfish, I admit that but she's cool. You could get along well with her,"

I rolled my eyes,

"Well, it's in the past now," I stood up.

"Bye, boys,"

At night, before going to sleep, I made some hot chocolate for me. While I was stirring the cup, I tried to connect all of the puzzles that I had found.

About the description of ToxiS's leader that Mason told me. 'He' was not popular so any single boy in the football team was not considered at all. Also, the deep male voice in the building, it must be the nerd that Leo and his friends were fighting with at the park.

Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out who that nerd was.

I tried to connect all of them but I just couldn't find it.

And then, the last puzzle that I had made me smiling.

The subtle interaction between them with that one nerd whenever he walked beside them. I thought that the look was because they wanted to bully him so I was careless about that. When I thought deeply, that nerd didn't look scare at all but instead, he always nodded.

I've solved this mission. But then, I remembered back what Mason said if I could solve all of this mission.

"Khaira, if we success this mission, let's make Leo and his friends embarrassed," Mason said as I looked at him and smirked.

"That won't be a problem, "

"Of course it won't. After all, you're the best spy ever, "

"What would you do to them? " I asked him curiously. He looked at me and said,

"Let's see what Logan, Alex and I got in head, "

I snapped out of my thoughts and muttered to myself,

"Don't tell him yet, Khaira. Not now, "
