Every story has an ending; happily ever after, the death of the hero or life goes on. That is not this ending. This ending is not happy, no one dies and life does not go on, at least not the same. This is how it ended.
The uncomfortable silence filled the room, the silence began to feel like to water filling the room and cutting off the oxygen supply and he felt like he was suffocating in it. His mom and dad sat across from him, disapointment obviously written across their faces. On his left was Vivien shifting uncomfortably in her chair. No one had a word to say.
Finally it was his father who spoke. "Anthony what the fuck where you thinking?" he yelled in anger. Tears were burning in Anthonys eyes. Never once in his life has he ever heard his father speak in such language and with such anger and pain. Thoughts flooded his mind and started to make him dizzy and stopped him from being able to even complete a sentence.
"Johnson please, that does not help anything." his mother tried to play peacekeeper in all of this chaos. "What do you want me to say Janis? That this is all okay that he ran away? Doesn't he know what he put us through? All the pain and worry." he started to choke on tears he was holding back. His mother put her hand on his knee.
"Anthony, we just want to know why you left, why you came all the way here. When we got the call from Vivien saying you were here, it just tore me apart inside," mom started weeping. Anthony felt awful, he didn't leave to hurt them, he left to find some answers.
"I'm sorry, i just...i just wanted to know who i was or where i came from. I wasn't trying to insult you guys." i couldn't even look up from my feet while speaking. The next voice that spoke startled me.
"Anthony," Vivien started, "I understand why you did the things that you did, and I'm sorry if I've caused any confusion or complications in your life and for you to understand who you are, but i put you up for a closed adoption for a reason, any story I tell you about me...about your, father will only complicate things. I'm sorry, your birth father was not a good man, and he did some very terrible things, but the only good thing he did, was make you. So that you would be born and given to this amazing family who loves you and cares about you. They are your back ground, they are your real family." she spoke softly.
It really hit him, the words she was saying. His birth dad...a bad guy? It hurt a bit to hear, but she was right. Before he found out, he loved the family he had now. They were always there for him. Perhaps they were really all that was need. He felt stupid.
"I'm sorry," Anthony began sobbing. Suddenly he was enveloped into loving arms, the ones that cared and held him all his life; his parents.
Soon they had all packed up, and after a awkward goodbye from Vivien, his parents shuttled him and CeCe back to the airport. Looking out the window tripping on the sky going by really got him thinking, about who he was and what he really wanted to do now. In the moment, however, he wouldn't focus on the past or even the future. Right now in this moment, he had his fingers intertwined with CeCe, the girl he loved. That's all the future he needed right now.
Vivien's POV
She made her way down the creaky steps into the basement where Jason was waiting for her. He had already begun his work. His dark black hair was messed up by the goggles that where covering his eyes, and his tall frame covered by his blood soaked lab coat.
She walked over to where he stood and put her arm around him. She looked down at their new subject they had. She was a 23 year old women named Abigail Reeds, bright red hair that was all knotted and stuck to her face. Her eyes wide with fear and sadness. Her mouth muffled by a gag and she lay there on the cold metal table, bloody and bruised, cuts and bruises covered her body, and her right leg was missing as she was bleeding out on the table.
Vivien looked up from the girl and studied the surroundings. Desks and tables scattered with papers and 'Missing people' posters. Posters of the people she's killed. Around there were giant plastic like curtains that where splattered with blood and hung from the ceiling. Bones and decapitated body parts strewn throughout the entirety of the basement.
"Abby here isn't having fun anymore baby," Jason said kissing her cheek. She felt a smile creep upon her face.
"Then allow me to help," she replied picking up a chefs and walking towards the girl. The girls eyes begged her not to, to help her, to let her go. she lifted the knife and began to carve out those guilty looking eyes.
