I look at Dipper who stares at a nearby tree questioning out loud why he didn't think to look around the statue for the journal, my brain hurts from taking in so much information. I wonder how he coped for this long with no one to talk to knowing that he couldn't trust anyone, not even his family. Not being able to see his parents for four years I can't even imagine being apart from my parents for that long. At least his parents are safe and away from Bill though, right.

"But why would he put it there in the centre of town?" Dipper mumbles again,

"I don't know anyone could have found it accidentally." Dipper stares at me in shock "What?"

"It makes sense"

"What makes sense?" I'm confused.

"The middle of town, Surrounded by people, people Bill can see through." Dipper says slowly

"He put it in such an obvious place so he would know if you ever found it!" I gasp in shock

"Exactly" Dipper lays down onto the grass staring at the sky in a state of sudden realisation. "I always did work better with a partner" A small smile etches its self onto my face. I reach into my pocket and pull out a paper brochure about Gravity falls and look at the pap on the back of the thin paper.

"Where to next?" I ask eager for adventure. I look at Dipper for an answer but he just stares at the sky in silence. The town map in my hands shows no clues as to where it could be, my eyes scan the paper searching for any indication of a hiding spot but nowhere seems a place to hide a book.

"I think we should go back to the statue, I know Bill and there is nothing he loves more than a game. He could have left a clue or something." He sits back up propping himself up by his hands, "we should go back there tonight, there will be less people around when it's dark to see us." Nodding my head in agreement dipper continues, "You need to get out of the house without your parents realising you're gone."

"That will be easy they sleep like logs" I chuckle out.

"Good, I'll wait for you outside of your house at two o'clock and then we can go the statue together."

"Okay but I still haven't got a front door key, I will have to steal one of my parents."

"Make sure they don't catch you take it because Bill could be watching them."

"I will be as sneaky as a ninja."

Dipper chuckles, "Come on lets head back to the shack and see what Mabel's up too."

We both walk back through the woods following the same route through the trees as before, no conversation is made as we both think about the heist that will commence later tonight. I hope my parents will be fast asleep by two because getting caught would definitely get me grounded and then I would never be able to help defeat Bill. I see the Mystery Shack nearby, we reached that far quicker than expected. I must have got carried away with my thoughts again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The house becomes silent as my parents fall asleep unknowing of my plan to sneak out, I glance at the time on my watch 1:37 am, hopefully they won't wake up. I creep out of bed and pull grab my coat from the wardrobe, the floor boards creak under my careful steps making me freeze to avoid making noise. I slide the long coat on pulling out my wavy hair from underneath. After quickly opening my bedroom window and stuffing some clothes into my bed I begin to make my way downstairs, I leave my room and listen for any movement from my parent's room. I'm greeted with a comfortable silence.  I tread carefully down the stairs worried of them creaking, I hold my breath as I place my foot on the floor breathing out again when both feet are safely off the stairs. My boots are next to me at the bottom of the stairs, I slide them slowly onto my feet and walk to the front door. I notice a key is already in the door from when it was locked. I place a hand on the Handel and hold the cold metal key with the other, the key makes a loud click as it is twisted and unlocks the door, I hope it wasn't loud enough to wake anyone. The door opens slightly and I slip outside into the cool night.

I spot a figure walking towards me through the darkness it's hard to see clearly as the street lights are scarce and dim. As they near closer I realise its Dipper, "Dipper" I whisper as I walk over to him. I can see him smiling at me through the dark.

"You got out," he sighs sounding relieved.

"Of course I told you, I'm like a ninja"

"I didn't know ninjas left the house in pyjamas" Dipper laughs quietly.

"I could not be bothered to change." I laugh back

"Come on let's go to the statue" we both start walking down the street staying in the shadows to avoid being seen.

After walking silently for what feels like forever, I spot the statue just ahead,

"Start looking for anything that could point to a clue." Dipper sounds very serious as he speaks.

Our eyes scan every object in the area surrounding the statue but no clues are found, I look at Dipper who is slouched on the ground staring at the statue.

"I was really hoping to find something," I mumble as I sit next to Dipper, both staring at the statue Dipper doesn't reply and lays down on the ground looking miserable I lay down as well.

"The stars look really pretty here." I say without realising. Dipper laughs almost silently. "I have always liked the stars, look" I point to the sky, "That's the north star over there."

 "Wow"

I look around to see if I know the names of any other stars, north is that way "Oh look see the weather vane, its wrong, north is in the wrong place and I can tell because north is that way." I point whilst I'm talking to show what I mean.

Dipper stand up suddenly and walks over to the building (which looks a lot like a church) that the vane is on top of. Without talking he climbs up onto a bin that's near the building then onto the roof, I watch Dipper as he stares up at the steeple then starts to climb using the tiles as steps.

"It's rusted so the top won't spin at all, they must know that it's broken and haven't replaced it" Dipper mumbles to himself but I can still hear him from the bottom where I am watching.

"It might be a clue! Grab it and quickly come back down" I gasp, Dipper grabs the weather vane and edges back down the steeple, he jumps down from the roof landing next to me with a thud.

Dipper passes me the weather vane which I twist in my hands so it faces north. "Look the arrow points north east." I say as I start walking in that direction, Dipper follows as we both hurry off hoping that it will lead us somewhere.
