The sun shines through the window onto my face blinding me as I drift back into reality. 'I wonder if today will be any better'. I climb out of my warm bed covers which still smell like our old house and wander down the creaky stairs and into the kitchen. Mum stands by the sink smiling at me.
"I made you coffee sleepy head" She says as she hands me the hot drink. I can't help but smile back, coffee should be renamed life because it fuels me.
"Thanks mum"
"Did you have a nice dream?" She asks interested. Mum always asks about dreams, she's a writer and uses them for inspiration for her stories. It was her idea to move to Gravity falls, she wanted to be more 'at one with nature' and somehow stumbled upon this little town in the forest.
"I don't think I had a dream last night actually" I answer whilst grabbing a cereal bar from the side.
"Me neither" She looks disappointed, "I'll go ask your father" she leaves the kitchen and walks upstairs to wake dad up. "Oh Kelsey" I quickly hear her shout.
"Yeah"
"There is a letter on the side for you, it came this morning."
"Thanks mum" I shout back. I quickly finish my coffee and cereal bar then grab the letter and walk back upstairs.I sit on my messy bed and open the letter.
'To Kelsey, Hi again its Dipper I don't have your phone number so I wrote a letter. Do you want to hang out later maybe? the mystery shack is not far away from where you live, feel free to drop by any time.'
I put the letter down, I might as well go out I have nothing better to do today. I get dressed and brush my teeth. I put a little mascara on and braid my hair. I shove on my long black boots over my denim jeans and grab a long dark blue coat before leaving to avoid getting cold. Just before leaving I pull out the old book that I hid under my bed and slide it into my coat. For some reason I feel the need to protect it and keep it hidden even though it's probably just a kids book its cool and interesting.
"I'm going out bye" I shout and I leave the house and shut the door behind me. I walk down the path looking for the Mystery Shack.
After walking around for a while a spot an arrow shaped sign stuck to a tree. It reads Mystery Shack and points left into the forest. I slowly walk into the forest the little sun that escapes through the cloudy sky is further blocked out by the towering pine trees which form the majority of the forest.
I walk for what seems like ages in the same direction until I spot another arrow stuck to a tree. I keep following the arrows until I reach a dry dirt road leading to a large wooden shack in the middle of the woods.
I walk up to the shack and knock of the front door. It quickly swings open and I am greeted with a huge hug. Not sure who this person hugging me is, I back away out of their tight grasp. I look at the stranger to see a pretty girl who looks my age. She has dark wavy hair and the biggest grin I have ever seen. She's wearing a pale purple top and a sparkly black skater skirt.
She looks at me as if I'm an old friend who she hasn't seen for years.
"Hi I'm Mabel" She quickly says sounding excited. She grabs my hand and leads me inside kicking the door shut behind her.
"I'm Kelsey" I say smiling back at her.
"I know I've wanted to meet you for so long, I already know we will be best friends."
"I only moved here yesterday" I chuckle.
"It feels like a forever ago."
She leads me into the nearest room which looks like the living room. Two other girls are sitting on the floor looking just as excited.
Mable points to the girl nearest us. The girl is quite thin, she has long black hair and an Asian complexion.
"That's Candy"
"And I'm Grenda" The other girl says in a deep voice. She is a lot larger and taller than Mabel and Candy, she also has short brunette hair that is pulled into a tight bobble.
"Hi I'm Kelsey" Mable sits down between them and they all stare still grinning at me.
"We are talking about boys" Candy says giggling. I laugh back and sit down as well.
"What about boys?"
"That they are cute" Candy giggles again making me laugh.
I hear loud footsteps thud down the stairs, I turn around to face a scruffy looking Dipper. He smiles at me."You came" He says sounding shocked.
"Yeah why not"
"Do you want to go somewhere like not here?" He asks.
"Sure okay," I stand up "It was really nice meeting you all I'm sure I'll see you guys again later." I say as I walk to the front door.
"Bye" they say in unison. Dipper grabs a grey coat, quickly opens the front door and we leave.
Hi I've decided to go back and change a few chapters as I have new ideas for the story line, I hope you still like it and I'm sorry for not updating in so long like nearly a year... I don't even know if anyone reading still has this in their library its been that long. I will update more frequently over the summer. I hope it will be worth the wait I'm editing the chapters and changing the story line hopefully making it better over today and tomorrow, then hopefully the next brand new chapter will be up in a few days time.
Thanks for reading my book and sorry for the wait xx - Kiera. please vote comment read it all means a lot.
