Misunderstood

Chapter 14

"We don't need truce, there is no reason to fight anymore." He declared.

"Well then, I should get going. Toodles." I stood up, waving a hand in the air.

"Wait." Aaron spoke.

"What? What is it?" I confusedly asked.

"I have a question." He stated.

"Okay. What might that be?" No one seemed in the mood to question so I spoke up.

"What about us?" Aaron asked Charles after a few moments of awkward silence.

I don't know why but I burst out laughing at this sentence.

"What's so funny?" He asked folding his arms across his chest defensively.

"Nothing apart from the fact that you just sounded like a girl asking about her relationship status to her lover." I said still chuckling a bit.

Seth started to laugh while clutching his stomach once everything clicked in his brain.

"Hey, I didn't mean it like that." Aaron protested just as Charles took a couple of steps away from him to keep a little distance between them.

"Then what exactly did you mean?" He confusedly asked him.

"I mean we were a group for a reason and now that the reason is no more what are we going to do?" Aaron clarified.

"Okay. Hate to interrupt but what does any of this has to do with me?" I piped in still confused but entertained by this drama. 

But my voice fell on deaf ears and once again I dropped on the couch to enjoy every second of the drama that is about to commence.

"What he means is, now that we don't have anyone to chase, what are we going to to do?" Seth voiced out.  

"Oh!" Was Charles's answer.

Isn't he a genius.

"What oh, what will we really do. We joined you because we didn't have any place to go to and as much as this couch is comfortable, I don't really want to live in this warehouse for the rest of my life." Seth blurted out.

"You two can stay with me, we will join a gang because that is the only thing we know how to do."Charles stated with a shrug.

While I was resting against the surprisingly comfortable couch, watching the drama come to a happy ending.

"Cammy, I was thinking." Charles said as walked in my direction.

Oh no.

What has his brain brewed up now.

"Is it possible that we go back to the way we were before any of this ever happened,when we were like family?" He finally asked as he stood in front of me.

Okay. I did not see that coming. I thought that we will go on our separate ways until the situation changes.

"Now why would we do that?" I asked with a blank stare and raised brow.

"You could betray me after I behave like old times. Why would I risk that." I continued without giving him a chance to say anything.

"Why the sudden change of heart?" I inquired.

"Because I tried to hurt you, more than once without knowing the truth, without hearing your side of the story. Carter would never forgive me. I destroyed the bond we had based on a misunderstanding. I am trying to make it right. These two will become your brothers too if you want." He offered.

"Don't we get a say in this."

"Hey!"

The brand new brother's shouted in protest.
