I've been sitting in my room for quite some time now. My urge for a shower is so strong but I don't think there's any chance of getting to the bathroom without trouble. Just randomly opening each door until I find the bathroom is the only way I can think of and that's a huge no-go. I don't want to find out what happens if I accidentally open the door to Jeff's room while he's inside or something. I see Jeff as the kind of person to ignore the rules and just try to kill me.
A knock on my door disturbs my thoughts. I slowly sit up. I hope it's not Jeff, Toby, Masky... "Who's there?" I ask.
"It's me," a now familliar voice replies. It's BEN. Relieved, I permit him to enter my room.
"Hey BEN, what's up?" I ask with a hint of curiosity.
"It's dinnertime, and I figured that maybe if I'm with you, you'd feel better or something?" He looks at me, dead serious. I just look at him, not knowing what to say. I really don't know what to do or how to react when someone's nice to me. BEN's expression turns from serious to somewhat embarrased. "Did I say something weird?"
"No, of course not." I shake my head violently, not wanting him to feel awkward. Doing so wasn't smart, my neck hurts pretty bad now because of my exaggerated movement. "I just don't know how to deal with nice people," I say apologetic.
BEN shrugs. "Just take my offer and say 'thank you', I guess?"
"Seems legit," I nod. "Well, I gladly accept your offer BEN, thank you." Even though BEN is one of 'them', I feel sort of at ease around him. The constantly present feeling of fear decreases when he's around. His friendliness might be an act, he might have some bad intentions. But for now, I'm just glad he's there.
"Let's go then." BEN leaves the room and walks down the hallway. I close the door and hurry after him. My walk with BEN is a lot more pleasant than with Toby, this morning. I'm not all tensed up. When BEN said he wouldn't hurt me, he seemed genuine.
The kitchen is still empty when we arrive -except for Eyeless Jack , who is cooking- but the air is filled with the smell of delicious food. Jack is still busy with his work and I turn towards BEN. "I thought you said dinner was ready?"
The elf boy shrugs, which apparently is his signature move. "Almost, I figured it'd be better to arrive early so you can pick your seat. That's what I always do, so that I don't have to sit on a random leftover seat," he explains.
"Smartass," I remark, without any form of sarcasm.
"Thanks, thanks," BEN says, sitting down in the same seat as this morning. "You can sit next to me if you want, Glitch isn't here, so..."
"Why not?" I ask while letting myself fall in the chair next to BEN's. Of course, I'm not complaining. Sitting next to BEN is completely fine with me.
"His cartridge has been found by someone, so he has some work to do," BEN explains. It doesn't make much sense, honestly not at all, so I just nod so I won't look too dumb.
In the meantime, other residents are entering the kitchen and Jack is finished cooking. It must be a hell of a job, cooking for so many people. Although everyone that cooks here's probably used to it.
With a few quick moves of Slender's tentacles, the pans with food are taken from the stove and placed onto the table. I have no idea what's inside the pans but it smells delicious. Jack must me an amazing cook, despite the fact that he can't eat human food.
The moment Slender removes his tentacles from the pans, everone lunges forwars, trying to be the first one to open a pan. Next to me, BEN lunges towards the pan with so much passion that he almost knocks Silver, who isn't participating in this madness- out of his chair.
"SPAGHETTI!" BEN yells, being the first one to open the pan. Everyone just looks at him, defeated. Apparently, trying to be the first one to open the pan is some kind of ritual here.
"Well, at least the spaghetti is a good thing," I hear Toby say in a sad voice. I look up, surprised that he's making such a big deal out of this. To my surprise, he isn't wearing his mouth guard, which makes perfect sense if you think about it, since he's eating. But seeing him without makes me understand why he wears it. There's a huge gash in his left cheek, exposing some of his teeth. I quickly avert my gaze, before I get caught staring. What happened to his cheek? Okay, that guy scares the living hell out of me but I can't help but wonder...
"That's what you get from chewing on your cheek without feeling pain," BEN whispers. So he saw me looking. "Hey, want some spaghetti?" I nod and BEN grabs my plate. Chewing on his cheek, why does he do that? Well, if you don't feel pain, there isn't much that stops you from doing so, right?
Absentmindly, I use my fork to pick up some spaghetti from the plate BEN put back in front of me. Yeah, everyone has weird things here. Weird injuries, twisted minds, insane thoughts, dangerous habits. Toby's no different. But yet, he caught my interest. Probably because he's my so-called 'babysitter' or something.
The spaghetti interrupts my thoughts. It already smelled good, but I wasn't prepared for this -it's more than delicious! I take another bite, and another one. How can someone who can't even taste what he's doing, make such a delicious meal?
"EJ's spaghetti is the best," BEN grins at me, his mouth stuffed with spaghetti.
Yeah, it's definitely next level.
I glance up one more time, looking at Toby and the gash in his cheek. But then I turn my attention to the spaghetti, finishing my meal in silence.

Yeah, there's a lot of BEN, I know. No, this won't turn into a BEN x reader or something. Figured you might as well befriend BEN so you won't be lonely, until you figure things out with Toby. No worries, Toby will come soon enough ^^.
Also, I have drawn my Creepypasta OC. If anyone's interested, I can post it here? XD
