Andy was lucky, in the school sense. He was popular, cocky but sweet, and not too hard on the eyes. He had the best of all best friends, Alex. Back when Andy had first arrived, Alex was his roommate.

And Alex WAS the best. The best at baseball, and the best at dealing with Andy's crap. They knew all of Andy's secrets, knew his hopes for the future, and knew how he was saving up money for him to get out.

Alex had gone through their own trials and yet still had time to hear the biggest heartthrob of the school complain about how his hair didn't match his shoes.

But Andy wasn't shallow, despite popular belief. He just thought it was easier to focus on being a jock then to actually face his not-so-perfect-American-life. And he was right. Or at least he thought he was right.

So sitting in the middle of Mrs.Guld's English 2 class, when that boy walked in. Andy caught himself staring. Again.

To be fair, it wasn't his fault. Boys were cute. And this one was especially cute.

He had not seen the boy around much, only now and then; even though it seemed like they shared every class together with the amount of studying of the boy's face Andy was doing.

The boy would show up in the middle of class with slightly tattered clothes and a frown.

Not that Andy could blame him for said frown. SCHS sucked.

When the class ended, usually the boy would walk down to the baseball field and sit, even though it was 12:30. But no one stopped him.

Andy would then usually go to Chemistry, and have to be paired up with some know-it-all by Mr.Franston.

This Thursday though, the boy went through the front doors instead of heading out the back. He just walked out of the red doors headed to the north. Towards downtown.

But he suddenly got the urge to see where he was going.

And no, Andy didn't think he was being creepy by following the boy. Only maybe slightly weird.

But as Andy kept a distance from the boy, while still stalking my him, he thought of "home"; the small house across the sea, shared with his 4 siblings and parents.

When he finally saw where the boy was going he gasped. His classmate was headed to the Cans Hill Post building, the small newspaper that was somehow loved and read by everybody even though they could easily pick up their phones. And he was doing this in the middle of the day.

A bench may have given some cover as the boy turned into the building, the chimes on the door swinging. And behind that bench ended up getting pretty comfortable considering the boy spent about 15 minutes in that God forsaken place.

He finally came out and headed back up the road to what Andy presumed was the school.

When the boy was out of sight, Andy went into the small building to see what was so important. And once again he was surprised. His maybe-crush had signed up to be a "Teen Writer." Or so the paper said.

He shrugged as he put his name down right under the boy's name; if he could get to know this person better, meet new people, and maybe earn a little cash, it would be worth it.

Andy looked down at the paper with the now four names and smiled. This was going to be fun.

I'M SOOO SORRY

This was crazy late, I had this half typed up when testing started at my school and I just haven't had a time to finish it till now.

I really like writing from Andy's perspective, and not too much foreshadowing in this prologue as there was with Mylo.

And it was longer! Because you deserve it after my mini hiatus

This is for Smiely27517750 , thank you so much for the nagging for me to get this done, no matter how annoying.
