'Want to come over to my place?' I nod leaning against my locker. ' Sure Kenny.' He quickly grabs my hand dragging me to his place, I groan. 'I'm all for skipping school but, do we have to run?' He laughs. 'If this is running I don't want to know what sprinting is.' We get to his house and he pulls me in, I ask. 'Where is everyone?' Kenny answers. 'Mum and dad are at a bar, Karen is at school and Kevin is still MIA.'

I nod quickly asking. 'What the hell?! What happened to your face?!' He looks at me confused. 'What?' I quickly grab his face pulling him close to me, he smirks. 'If you wanted to get closer to me, you should have just talked to me.' I see the bruises that his normally done up jumper covers, I ask. 'What happened?' He shrugs. 'Just got into a fight, should've seen the other guy.'

I pull him closer forcing him to look me dead in the eyes. 'Who is the other guy?!' He shrugs. 'Some random guy.' I say. 'Bullshit Kenny.' He sighs. 'My dad.' I quickly hug him. 'You should just tell me these things you dick.' He shrugs. 'No, I don't want to worry you, and plus, I can look out for myself.' I say angrier. 'Karen can't.' He says. 'I don't let him get to Karen! If Kevin was here it would help! But he's not! Even when he was here, he did nothing but anger dad!' I quickly kiss his forehead. 'Babe. . .I'm sorry, can you and Karen just stay over at my place tonight? I'm sure Ruby would be happy with it.'

He smiles. 'Fine.' He asks. 'Can I just grab some stuff?' I nod. 'Yeah.' We walk into his room grabbing a bunch of items and then he walks into Karens, I look at my phone to see Ruby should be getting out of school soon, which also means Karen should as well. I say. 'Come on, we should be able to pick them up now.' He nods putting the bag on his back, I grab his hand and say. 'I understand why you got defensive about Karen. . .' Kenny says. 'I want to protect Karen. . .she is my younger sister and I love her.' I kiss his forehead. 'That's understandable.'

I hold him close to me the whole walk, when we arrive at the school I see Ruby and Karen run up to us, Kenny quickly picks up Karen smiling. 'Hey Karen, we're not going home tonight.' Karen asks. 'Did you and dad fight again?' I shake my head grabbing around Kennys waste. 'Nah, just thought maybe you two should stay with me and Ruby tonight.' Ruby smiles. 'Sleepover?' I nod. 'Sure.' Ruby asks. 'Don't you have to ask mum and dad?' I shrug. 'I have a good reason why they're staying over brat.'

Ruby asks. 'They're dad hitting Kenny and trying to hurt Karen?' I just place my head on Kenny's shoulder. 'Meh.' We walk back to my place when we enter my mum asks. '4 people? The travelling circus.' I say. 'Can you two walk upstairs?' I direct it to Karen and Ruby, they nod leaving the room. I sit on the couch and ask. 'Is it alright if Karen and Kenny stay over tonight?' She asks. 'Yes but why?' Kenny says. 'I'm sorry Mrs Tucker it's just my dad has been doing some stuff and it's putting Karen and I in danger, thank you for your hospitality.'

Mum sits up. 'What do you mean you and Karen are in danger?' Kenny shrugs. 'When he gets drunk, we get into fights and I usually have to make sure Karen is hidden.' Mum asks. 'Physical fights.' Kenny nods sitting next to me, I look at him trying my hardest not to pin him to the couch and kiss him everywhere but, I'm trying to be a gentleman.

Mum smiles. 'So? You two lovebirds sharing a room?' I blush wrapping my arm around Kenny. 'Yeah. . .' Kenny laughs. 'Yeah.' I say grabbing his hand. 'Anyway, I need to talk to Karen, Tricia and Kenny upstairs.' We walk up to my room as I say. 'I'll grab Karen and Tricia, ok? But first. . .' I quickly bend down kissing his neck, I suck down bitting on it a bit, he laughs. 'I love you, Tucker.' I smile pulling back. 'Love you too McWhoredick.'

I knock on Tricias door and ask. 'Can you two come into my room please?' The door opens as they walk into my room, Kenny smiles. 'So, what is so important?' I laugh. 'I think Karen should sleep in here with Kenny since Kenny might want to protect Karen?' Ruby groans. 'Why doesn't he sleep in my room then?' I say. 'Cause I want to protect Kenny.' Kenny slaps my ass like it's meant to hurt. 'Can even protect yourself from getting a smack on the ass, who said I need protecting?'

I roll my eyes. 'I just want to protect you since I'm your boyfriend.' Ruby says. 'So? Karen is my friend.' I say. 'Boyfriend beats friend.' I quickly sit on my bed as Kenny rests his head against my shoulder, I whisper. 'I love you.' He nods. 'I love you too babe. . .'
